He really blossomed after the FIBA Asia.
TNT should be regretting why they let go Japeth in exchange for Rabeth.

Japeth Aguilar was a clear headcase when he was with TnT ..... even going back to when he was first drafted by AIR21, by refusing to sign after the draft.

Unlike SMCorp franchises, teams like ALASKA, RoS & TnT won't hesitate to trade away players (even with little trade compensation) who doesn't want to play for them.

Japeth has somewhat mellowed down with GPORT and seems to have settled well with BGK - playing with a good majority of the fans behind you brings with it some ego boost and confidence. Good for Japeth if he has finally found a home with BGK.

The Philippine Team to the World Cup will benefit from Aguilar's vast improvements and maturity.
Hope he continues to improve , toughen up physically and injury-free.

Pinakyaw na ng SMC un mga BIG men in Fajardo, Slaughter and Aguilar na si MVP ang naginvest to polish their games via Smart Gilas.

There must be something wrong with how MVP's teams are managed/coached that led to Aguilar wanting out.

It is the same with Fajardo. IMHO Reyes never gave Fajardo the chance to show what he can really do.

Other than exceeding the salary-cap, there is little to criticize about the way the TnT franchise operates and plays the game.

TnT was still a championship/contending juggernaut when Aguilar came on board (after GILAS 1.0) ...... it was almost guaranteed and expected that Japeth would ride the bench, since TnT already had a known winning rotation.

Japeth was a head case with AIR21 and TnT ...... it's not far fetched that Mikee Romero might have seen the same thing, thus trading away Japeth after a short stint with GLOBALPORT. Like I said, good for Japeth if he finally finds a home with BGK (his 4th PBA team).

As for Fajardo, he was a rookie when he got his GILAS call (a big honor for any rookie) ..... his game wasn't polished enough to warrant heavy minutes from Chot Reyes. Besides, he was playing behind names like Douthit, Pingris, Ranidel, etc ....... I've never been a fan of Chot Reyes' arrogance, but Ive always said that he was the best man to coach the national team.

Without a doubt, TnT would have selected Slaughter in the draft ...... its just unfortunate that TnT does not have high draft picks for some time now - owing to it being a perennial contender in the PBA.

Of course it's different with SMCorp teams ...... they always contend, yet they always get high draft picks year after year after year ....... it's a mystery that only PBA Comm. Cheato Salud can solve.  ;D

Ginebra is now 7-1 tied for the 1st place. not a GSM fan but very impressive yung laro nila this conference especially the twin towers of Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter.

Next conference yata may import na ulit. A 6'8" import for GSM will make them a very solid team.

An import playing the wing, a slasher with good outside shooting and with good passing ability will make GSM very formidable.

Malaki-laki chance brader basta wag lang mainjured si Japeth at makapasok din sila sa semis>Finals.
Magandang laban sa Dec. 25 BGK vs. Petron:
Slaughter vs Fajardo
Aguilar vs Santos

Slaughter and Aguilar really complement each other very well.
Hi-Low with Slaughter creating space down low while Aguilar with his athletic ability post high then attacks the basket or jumps from the weak side for possible 2nd shots.
More refining in their games then the upcoming Gilas 3 will have a solid front court to compete in the World Cup.

break of the game ika nga, lalo na yung mga missed free throws ni John Wilson.
2 - 3pointers po yung pinakawalan ng gins for the last 15 seconds coming from JR Reyes' favorite spot sa left corner & Japeth's favorite spot upper wing  ;)  kaboooom!

And FYI... Ato Agustin designed the 3-point shot play for Jay-R Reyes...
I remebered Ato Agustin calling Reyes to replace Greg Slaughter during the time out with 15 seconds left...

First time to watch the twin towers.  Yes, I agree -- magaling yun dalawa.  Makes Ginebra a very potent team now.

But still soft. The San Mig big men can easily push them aside. Pag nakabuwelo mahirap silang pigilin pero pag kalabawan di sila makaporma.

Actually it's Slaughter who really have to toughen up, he needs to play a lot more physical in defense anyway the rookie playing well and eventually will improve in due time.
Aguilar is awesome! He's simply showing he's the most athletic pure breed Filipino BIG men to ever play in the PBA.

Had the chance to watched the new Ginebra lineup live after such a long time. Nag improve nga si Japeth and mas maganda ball sharing ngayon. But what really caught my attention was how good and underrated yung point guard ng San Mig.. He defended well and can shoot kaso IDK pero wala ba talagang PG ang SanMig?
