pag nanunuod ako ng PBA live and hindi Ginebra naglalaro, yung mga patron seats lang madalas madaming nakaupo pero sa upper portions, naku, parang ghost town. haha malungkot na malungkot. pero pag Ginebra, madami nanunuod kahit Gen.Ad and madami bakla fans. although every game madami talaga bakla fans and sila nagpapasaya pag di masiyado madami crowd. Funniest line I remember was when Baclao busted his lip. Biglang sigaw yung bakla "Noy, sipsipin ko yung dugo" hahahaha

The PBA has to ban Yeng Guiao from the league until he undergoes anger management classes. Ang pikon. Okay lang magreklamo pero kung manakit ka na ng player, sobra na yun. He elbowed Hontiveros before. He did the same to Menor. Ngayon, import naman ng TNT hinampas sa tiyan. He was just fined 100K a few days ago for calling Cliff Hodge a mongoloid tapos eto na naman. The referees made a bad call, bakit sa import ng kalaban ka gaganti? Pikon talaga. I actually wished sinapak yun ni Howell para matauhan.

Okay, so Howell called Guiao a bitch in a previous play. What he did to Howell proved it true. ;D

Pang asar din kasi si Howell ang luwag ng basketball court doon pa dumaan sa pagitan ni Yeng at ng ref while Yeng was talking to the ref, parang bastos sa culture natin 'yung ganun.

Well, how about that? San Mig Coffee on the receiving end of a crucial non-call by the referees. First 2 games of the semis and 2 glaring non-calls agad. Not a good sign.

Anyway, Sean Anthony has been big for Air21. Perfect yung balik niya galing injury/wedding. He seemed to be limping after the game, though. Can Air21 sustain this kaya? Para silang Alaska last year. May gulat factor pa.

with the way they are playing and with the system they are implementing (or the lack of it), kaya sa pa-liga ng mga barangay hindi sila mananalo.

TnT just in a different class ....... as long as they're healthy, it's a championship for them.

RoS was in an uphill climb to begin with ...... they had an iffy import & losing Jervy Cruz was a huge setback - Cruz is the 3rd most important player on that team.

===========================================================================

BGK fantards better stock up on more patience ....... though Jeff Cariaso has the credibility to coach, he will be too raw to preach triangle, if he ever does run it.

Of course, the 3rd conference is all about the imports ....... you get a great one, you're almost guaranteed a semis slot.

They are a different class coz they've been playing together for a good number of years plus the system introduced by Coach CHOT was continued by Coach Norman.
So 17 consecutive wins = CHAMPIONSHIP!

from the grapevine, the introduction of the triangle seems to be the plan. that will make BGK a "boring" team. not that the triangle is boring, or that a team utilizing it is a bore to watch. the triangle is a deliberate system, which is not what BGK is known for (or what it was used to be) --- a gung-ho, devil-may-care, run-and-gun team.

although the no official announcement has been made, it would appear that The Jet is "it" as coach for the team. the official announcement will be made tomorrow, according to rumors.

Actually, if one looks close enough, BGK hasn't been playing gung-ho basketball in many years.

Since the Danding-boys took over post-Jaworski; head coaches Caidic, Tanquincen, Uichico up to the present, all had instilled the very deliberate motion-offense ...... taken of course from Ron Jacobs.

They still run-and-gun and excite, but it's FAR from the kind of excitement that Jaworski's teams generated back in the days.

I'd dare say that most of the excitement from BGK games are a result of fandoms and fantards - the great majority of fans nowadays, who follow the player rather than the team or the sport.

==========================================================================

Jeff Cariaso is a good guy ....... his heart and effort will be there if ever he does coach BGK.

But the triangle has an extremely steep learning curve ....... Luigi Trillo runs it at ALASKA, but it's way inferior to Tim Cone's version.

Like I said, BGK fans need to stock up on patience ...... that, or hope that they get a great import for the 3rd conference.

Is the TRIANGLE OFFENSE that superior?
If so then why does majority of the coaches in the PBA or even in the NBA dont preach it to their respective teams?
Different coaches have their own style "Diskarte" preparing their respective teams and most of then do succeed even w/o implementing the Triangle.
Actually basketball during the Crispa Toyota days and those of Jawo's Ginebra days were more exciting to watch.
Aside from the run and gun style before, the best facilitator was the pivot man in Ramon Fernandez when he actually dish out excellent assists from the low post.

It's not. The triangle was never intended as an all-encompassing offense.

It's just a system designed to get the best available shot attempt for players at their sweet spots.

In a talent-driven league such as the NBA, it doesn't win much games if you don't have the talent on the floor ...... a quick look at the recent disciples of the triangle - Rambis, Cleamons, Hamblen, Hunter, etc and they all had miserable coaching careers.

It's very similar in the PBA ...... the only difference, the PBA is a very shallow league compared to the NBA. Ten (10) teams at the most, with a great majority of the talent concentrated on about half of the teams.

Post-Grand Slam ALASKA didn't enjoy as much success due to the massive hoarding of talent by the SMCorp teams ...... Tim Cone is a sucker for consistency and he hasn't changed his coaching style much, from ALASKA all the way to SAN MIG COFFEE - yet he's winning championships now because he has an ultra-loaded roster.

Actually basketball during the Crispa Toyota days and those of Jawo's Ginebra days were more exciting to watch.

Like what I said.

I like Air21's chances now that Franz Pumaren have some of his former DLSU players who won UAAP championships under him.
It really makes wonders that both coach and players are familiar with one another.

It has more to do with Asi than the La Salle connection. Maganda kasi example na pinapakita ni Asi. Maganda influence niya sa ibang players. Never say die si Asi eh. And yes, unbelievable as it may seem, Lito Alvarez made very good moves in acquiring Sean Anthony, Jonas Villanueva and Aldrech Ramos. They're a perfect fit to Air21.

Yes Asi is the leader and he's playing good basketball and also serves as inspiration for his teamates.
Who can imagine Simon Atkins playing superbly against the very talented guards of San Mig?

With under 10 mns in the 3rd San Mig is up by 20 and i dont think Air21 come back from that deficit.

I was really hoping that KIA would be a serious team in the PBA but that doesn't seem to be the case judging from this, if ever it's true.

http://www.spin.ph/sports/boxing/news/manny-pacquiao-says-he-has-reached-deal-to-be-playing-coach-for-new-pba-team-kia-motors-v02

Seriously? Pacquiao as playing coach?

kaya ba sya (sakali) maging playing coach para pwede syang maglaro kahit hindi dumaan sa draft o ok lang since buong team ang papasok? hindi na ako updated sa pba. :(

Yeah, that's the plan. Para makapaglaro siya. Hindi kasi siya papayagan kung di dadaan sa draft. Di rin pinayagan yung mga bagong teams na mag-direct hire ng players. KIA wants Paquiao to draw the fans to their team. I don't think it's the right idea, though.
