GULONG by Sockie Fernandez (Cinemalaya 2007 entry)

My bet for Best Pic on this year's CINEMALAYA! I thought it was just ripped of from THE BICYCLE THIEF, I was wrong! Its nice to see again the reel and real husband and wife team of Barbara Perez & Robert Arevalo.

Trailer is up on youtube. Awesome, awesome! Love the theme song.

So you've seen the film already? When? Was there a preem?

Nah bro, haven't seen the whole movie. I'm just too excited about it because of the trailer. I haven't seen a trailer in a long time that is so inspiring and you can almost sing the main theme song of the movie.

I was surprise to see Gary Valenciano in the poster billing. Two days to go!

My early fave among the festival entries saw it twice already! Its the MAGNIFICO of 2007 meets STAND BY ME but more light-hearted, funny, uplifting and inspiring that connects the past to the present. The dream sequences are hilarious. Once again Lee Meily's stunning cinematography is always an asset in a digital film. Amidst all the difficulties in life, it really feels good again to go back to your childhood and immerse in your dreams.

Thank you, thank you SOCKIE FERNANDEZ for making this movie!
