despite the hype they're trying to create with this invasion crossover, the first two parts was pretty underwhelming. the flash edition was nothing more than the obligatory x vs. z character bash fest. nothing new, nothing exceptional.

The Flash/Supergirl crossover musical episode "The Duet" will air on March 21, 2017 - the 17th episode. Villain is the Music Meister, who also appeared in the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Confirmed cast members who will sing in the episode are all the ones who have musical backgrounds: Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Jesse L. Martin, Victor Garber, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan, and John Barrowman. Gustin and Benoist were once part of the TV series Glee and have performed on stage musicals (notably The Sound of Music and West Side Story), while Martin, Garber, Valdes, Jordan, and Barrowman have extensive stage experience on Broadway and London musicals.

Synopsis for the musical episode crossover of The Flash/Supergirl, "Duet", which airs on March 21:
Barry and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can’t cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end.

I think this will be an entertaining episode. A break from the normal superheroing. Plus, I haven't watched any Glee episode so this should cleanse my palate.

Unlike last season’s crossover, Crisis on Earth-X will be a two-night event with two episodes per event- Supergirl/Arrow on Tuesday and Flash/Legends on Wednesday.

IMO Season 4 of the Flash is still pretty good, lighter in tone than the previous seasons. Ralph Dibny is a welcome addition to Team Flash.
