Not sure if I'm going to follow this.  It seems the first episode is, as expected, Bruce's parents getting killed.  I wonder how many times we have to see that scene.

But that scene really is the focal point where all Batman-related stories start. The difference is that the focus is not on Bruce Wayne but on the other characters who would be associated with Batman later on. I'll be following this.

I would actually have written it differently. Maybe make that scene the season ender?

As I understand it, this should be pre-Batman Begins so I would probably have wanted to see a deeper back story prior to the mugging.

Just finished watching the premiere, Harvey Bullock is an interesting character. Will definitely follow this show, looking forward to Oswald's story.

Now watching Sleepy Hollow season premiere ;)

Saw the pilot.  Surprised to see this version of Alfred is Australian.  Takes some getting used to.

Visually pretty okay, dialogue so-so, plot--well that bit about Carmine in the end was interesting. Otherwise it's Batman Babies without the superpowers, or Miller's  Batman Year One without costumes. I miss Daniel Waters.

I'll be watching this later tonight. I hope this will be more like Southland. Gotham should be a cop show.

watched the pilot last night. It was entertaining to see the young riddler and young penguin before they become the super villains we know.  8)

Is there anything currently on that can be a Southland replacement? I miss having one good cop show.

none, I'm afraid...it's mostly procedurals, and I don't like Chicago P.D. and Blue Bloods, and the upcoming Gracepoint seems to focus on one case, so the choices are nil.

Southland was a true loss, really.

...but back to Gotham, the pilot was great--casting choices were perfect; you could actually see the future Batgirl's genes in both Jim Gordon and Barbara Kean

Because the Waynes want to teach Bruce to grow up normally and not as a rich boy where he has a chauffeur at his beck and call.  Even if it's just once in a while.

The 2nd episode is ok. Oswald is creepy, Cat is a cute little gal, Alfred is a bit different and I wish Erin is hotter.

selina kinda looks very much like a younger michelle pfeiffer, and cobblepot's ascension to notoriety is certainly an interesting one.

Me I'm not accustomed to the the not so refined butler with a thick Australian accent.

sa mga nakapanood na ng pilot episode like myself.

http://screenrant.com/gotham-pilot-easter-eggs-cameos-batman/

baka ipunin ko na lang muna lahat ng episodes for season 1. I still have a lot of movies, tv series and even videogames to keep me  occupied till January.

That too pero mas bothersome for me na dinuduro-duro at sinisigawan ni Alfred si Bruce. haha

Well, I didn't say he should be spoiled. Siyempre kelangan maganda pagkadisiplina pero yung dinuduro-duro at sinisigawan? Ng butler? Sobra naman.

The Alfred Pennyworth in this version is a former Royal Marine of the British Armed Forces--is this the same as the comics?

Btw, Sean Pertwee is English (same as the Alfred character), not Australian--he looks exactly like his dad, the late Jon Pertwee, also known as the third Doctor Who.

Ah ok.  The seemingly australian accent and his use of "bloody" and "mate" made me believe it's an Australian Alfred.  Reminded me of Crocodile Dundee!  ;D

i like this series so far. it's a good vehicle to show how bruce wayne also develops as batman. they have years to develop his character.
