Sana naman may legit comments din tayo dito.
Personally I'm not interested in 2nd-tier brands, but I still need inputs so I 'll know what to say when friends and relatives ask about them.
Ang sinasabi ko lang sa kanila:
1. Ayos din ang PQ pag nasa appliance stores, pero compared to 1st-tier brands, baka mas malakas ang backlight bleed in a darker home environment;
2. Magkakaproblema ka siguro sa reliability, kasi ang internal components niyan mas mumurahin para mababa ang retail price;
3. Pero bakit mahal din yata? Baka malaki ang gastos nila sa salesman's commissions and higher mark-up incentive sa retailer.
I'm just guessing, so sana may legit posts din tayo dito para makapulot ako sa tunay na user comments.
got the 50" non-smart led hisense last december as a gift for my wife... works great insofar as video is concerned but the built in speakers just plain suck... hooked it up to the egreat i got from toys4geeks and an xbox via a pioneer 821 i got from hmr... lately, i've been using an android tablet running popcorn time to stream 1080p (if available... 720p if not) movies and tv shows to it...
i'd say i'm pretty happy with it... it's a replacement for an early generation samsung non-led 32"... did a side-by-side with my current 40" bravia and i can't see much difference in image quality... tempted to swap the 2 screens between our HTs but, as stated earlier, it's supposed to be a christmas gift to her...
things i like:
• image quality
• size vs. price
• video games don't motion blur (dunno what you call that feature),
• no backlight bleed
things i don't like:
• built in speakers
• too strong an LED indicator (taped it up) which is a pain when the room is dark
• bandwidth hog (need to stream/download 720p minimum as HDTV quality sucks at this size)
i do hope more lower priced alternatives come out... there are cases where the cheap alternative becomes better than the original... case to point: a Vespa PX150 vs. an LML Star 200... i'm now much happier with the LML as it offers a larger displacement and, more imporantly, 4-stroke engine vs. the PX at a much lower price...
