@Dana yes sir, as I have mentioned it in the beginning of this thread, I got the kit from china. just like my previous kit, its a pain in the ass to assemble due to incomplete and sometimes wrong parts, last night I have assembled a line preamp kit, with nothing to guide me I was in a verge of throwing the kit away, nakuha sa tyaga, still not yet finish I hope it runs. hahaha oo maluwag pa nga. plan ko lagyan ng bias selector switch for EL34 and 6L6GC

@xbase - yes yung yellow terminal strip kasama, I originally ordered ceramic kaso iba dumating e haisst

6SN7 has lower gain than a 6SL7, 70 versus 20, but try it and see.....

ano master ang direct replacemant sa 6sl7? Nung pinalitan namin ni joey ng 6L6 yung mga el34 nya grabe ka dramatic ang naging changes under bias pa yung 6L6 lalo sigura pag naitama nya bias nun!

6SL7 din, ask mo si Gerry kung ano meron sya.....
pwede rin naman na 6SN7, nga lang mas mahina ang tunog...
lalagyan ni Joey ng toggle switch yan para selector sa EL34 at 6L6GC...

@remington - yup bro sige subukan natin. by the way natapos ko na yung 5670 line preamp na pinakita ko sayo. crude pa yung case  but functional na. It sound soooo good with lots of gain. kayang kaya nya i drive yung amp ko.  tapusin ko lang ng maayos yung wiring pa test ko sayo.

for single ended class A, yung plate dissipation ang limit,
but tube life is shorter this way, although sound is best at this point...
80% of plate dissipation rating can be tried for reasonable tube life...

@master tony - so master if I run it a 70% there is nothing wroing with it right? other than mas mabilis mag clip yung power, but with a longer tube life span.  I just listen a couple of watts around 3 to 5. more than that is loud already specially for my kids.

yes....
clipping is a function of the psu, unavoidable consequence..
just back down on the volume...

Hi Guys here I am again to ask to allow me to present my latest creation.  Its an all tube preamplifier. I use 12AX7 and 12AU7 tube and 5Z4 recto.  I would like to thank Master Tony for the Parts (Socket, Terminal Strips and Transformer) and Remington for his opinion of the preamp.  The placement of parts is what how not to build a preamp.  Initially I was plaque with noise on the Phono stage but with perseverance I manage to bring it down to a very semi inaudible level.  I added a LF filter to boost low frequency, this is a true bass boost circuit since one doesnt need to adjust volume when boosting. My original intention is to have bass mid treble control but when I listen to it I though I dont need this controls, a simple Low Pass Filter will do.  My first foray on a preamp. I plan to build more.

meron akong tube kit from china from a group buy, 600 pesos lang...
mas mahal na ngayon ang diy unless from china ang kit....

5670 is also a 2C51, 6N3, 396A Western Electric....
the 6386 goes for big bucks in the internet...meron kay Gerry
