does that mean the volume of itunes music/movie sales already exceeds illegal downloads?

Hi-def FLAC ripped from Hi-def sources such as DVD Audio are better compared to those ripped from CD Audio..

Straight transfers from masters could be awesome (not all are). UltraHD Audio (384/32) is coming to the mainstream; I hope the content is worth it.

Wow!!  Will there actually be significant difference with those 128/24 downloadable in the net now?

That really depends on how the recording was made and if the playback equipment can actually resolve what is in the material.

As with anything, we get diminishing returns. Recording systems rarely work at resolutions that high. They only upconvert for mixing/editing purposes. The main consolation is that downconversion is minimal (if any) with distribution formats this good.
