I hope Loew starts Klose again and employs an offensive strategy.  With Silva out of the line up the Brazil defense will be very weak!

Tactics by Loew are spot on.  The Brazilians were totally exposed and put to the sword by a solid German side.

Wonder if this will be a comeback for the ages, like when Eusebio beat North Korea.

4-0 for Germany at only 25 minutes in.  Mueller, Klose, Kroos x2.  Disaster for Brazil.

World Cup goals scored record for Klose - 16!

Parreira had Bebeto and Romario in '94.

Scolari in 2002 had Rivaldo, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho.

Brazil today is not even close, even with Neymar. Scolari should have played a more conservative formation against a predatory German side and waited to counter. He rolled the dice and went all out in attack and had his defense utterly exposed.

Agree. The way to play the Germans is to counter attack, catch them off guard with quick transitions from defense to offense.

Well, i knew that Brazil defense was non existent.  More so with captain Silva out of the line up.  And Loew even made a tactical change to anticipate the Brazilian attack, he placed Lahm back at his best position of right back.  I can already smell a Netherlands-Germany final. :) Argentina has just as spotty a defense as Brazil with an even weaker offense now that di maria is injured.

Your team wins.  It shows how vulnerable the Brazil team is without Neymar and Silva.  Brazil's goal in the 90th minute is only a consolation.

Exactly.  I don't expect that score even without the two star players of Brazil.  It's even exciting to watch US vs. Germany than the semi final match.

I'm very interested to see what tactical adjustments LVG will be implementing tonight.  I'm quite sure he won't do a 4-3-3 because you have a player like Messi on the other side.  Maybe a 4-5-1 with Van Persie as a target man?

Sabella will probably start with a 5-3-2 out of respect for Robben's speed and then adjust later on.

In football, managers generally does not set his team based on the players in the other side but rather form the strongest 11 based on players available.  I expect both sides will not have major adjustments on their respective strategies that brought them at this stage.

The strategies definitely do not change but the tactics do.  Also, managers do tactically react to players on the other team, particularly against the likes of Messi.  LVG has done this before, too, even as early as when he managed Ajax. :)

Nigel De Jong starts for Memphis Depay and the Dutch follow a 5-3-2 formation.

Argentina is on a 4-3-3 (on paper at least)! This was unexpected.

Let's see how this one goes.

EDIT:

2 guys watching over Messi and Robben

It's Germany vs. Argentina in the finals.  My bet will be Argentina.  I hope Di Maria will be fit to play.
