I think the Celtics got the best pair of players in Smart and Young in this year's draft.
With Sullinger, Olynyk, Jeff Green plus the pair of rookies, the Celtics will rise again soon.
I'm sure Rondo will be traded sooner or later for some young players or future draft picks.

How i wish that Dante Exum playing for the Spurs.
He's the perfect combo guard that can replace Parker and Ginobili after they retire.

Best pair? Gotta be Gordon/Payton. Great picks for me yun by Orlando. Exum/Hood are good picks too.

Haslem just opted out. All signs are pointing to LBJ staying in Miami.

Sinong gusto mong piliin ni Masai? An immediate talent... someone like Napier?  :P

he can pick anybody, for all i care. but being a gm, he should be classy enough to choose the right words in public!

waa..? not defending him at all.

the discussion about masai in this thread was about the draft, and his abilities as a gm...

then you brought up the brooklyn incident not just once... but twice... you even quoted my comment that wasn't even directed at you.

so i quoted an article about his apology just to humor you.

i'm here to talk about basketball/nba, not about how some adult said some expletives in a public venue...  :P

Oh boy!  Lebron deserves the max... but along with roster upgrades?  Parang either or lang.  But if he does get the max, for the Heat to be able to afford upgrades... Bosh and Wade should maybe take less than $10 million?  Rumors say ok na si Wade and Bosh at $15 million annualy.  But if James is seeking the max at $26 million, then hindi nga pwede yun $15 million each kay Bosh and Wade.

Report: LeBron James seeking max deal from Miami, plus roster upgrades

Quote
So ... this complicates matters. The speculative idea after Dwyane Wade opted out Saturday was that he did so with assurances that James would return. With Bosh still undecided on whether to leave behind $20.5 million next season and over $42 million overall and reportedly asking for over $15 million per year, and if James were to indeed ask for the max at $26 million per season ... that gets awfully complicated in trying to build a superteam.

That's $41 million between those two players, with a projected salary cap at $62 million.

Lebron max contract scale

let's say -- 20m for LBJ, 30m for Wade/Bosh, Haslem - (3m?), cole (2m), napier (1m) +  cap holds for 5 empty roster spots (2.5m) =  around 5M in cap space.

even if the Heat frees up space it's gonna be really limited.

probably not enough for Gortat or Lowry.

EDIT: a different take w/ steeper salary cuts

Jason Kidd to interview with Bucks after failed Nets power play
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24600751/report-jason-kidd-to-interview-with-bucks-after-failed-nets-power-play

some user from realgm broke the story first:

Quote
I got inside sources in the Nets organization, and the word is Jason Kidd will get fired because he asked for a raise. Kidd also wanted the GM position, but the Russians told him no. Kidd will be the next coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, and possibly the GM too.

Haha ok yang demand ni Lebron for max. He knows Wade and Bosh are mere "hangers on" riding his coattails. Lalo na si Wade.

Lebron will and should ask for the a Max Contract. He deserves it.

Wade in my opinion should not get more than $10m per year so does Bosh.

Lakers tooling up to retain Gasol and add Melo to the mix. If they can ship out Nash through a trade and sign Bledsoe too they would have a heck of a starting 5 in Bledsoe/Kobe/Melo/Randle/Pau. Just get the main go to bench guys back like Bazemore, SwaggyP, Farmar and Hill. I feel that as an organization they are up to something big come July 1.

That botched CP3 deal really screw things up for LA and they still are reeling the effects three years after.

Oh...and they need a coach too. Nobody would sign with them if they don't have one onboard

Mukhang byron scott malaking chance na kunin ng Lakers. But Mitch has said that they wont get a coach until they fill out the vacant roster spots. Mas ok yung ganun for me kasi you'll get a coach with the right system for the guys you  have on-board.

I hope they get someone who can mentor Randle to improve his right hand and his defense. I'd love to see him develop into a Karl Malone type on D. Quick, active hands with a knack for stealing the ball. As for offense, kahit Barkley bully ball sana. But Barkley's mentality to be the  best was top notch. Hope Randle has at least the same drive.

melo #7 opted out 7 days before deadline
james #6 opted out 6 days before deadline
wade #3 opted out 3 days before deadline
bosh #1 opted out 1 day before deadline

wala lang...hehe :D what it means? no idea :P

imho..same as the other sentiments here, LBJ deserves max contract...wade & bosh 10mil each should be fine :D

Suns want Melo/Lebron partnership. Starting 5 of Bledsoe,Dragic,James,Melo, Frye looks good. Deep bench pa. I'm also sure na magagawan ng suns staff problema ni Bron sa cramps nya

malabo na yang analysis na yan because of Wade.. if they need to stay & resign the Big3 unahin nilang kausapin si Wade otherwise.. they keen keep Lebron.

Balita ko interesado si Zen at Pat kay Pau.. ayan ang kaabang abang din.  NY (Melo+Pua) or MIA (Lebron+Pau)

hindi lang nag-extend ng offer sheet kay Bazemore to make him a restricted FA. Cap room consideration move yun para walang cap hold
