OKC's Kevin Durant suffers right foot fracture, could miss 6-8 weeks

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Sunday that Kevin Durant has suffered what is called a Jones fracture in his right foot. The injury requires surgery and the reigning MVP forward will miss 6-8 weeks of time with the injury.

We will now find out if Westbrook can carry the team as some claimed.

Too many injuries in the NBA nowadays, I think the respective teams and coaches should start pacing their stars and not let them play all 82 games in the regular season.
They should follow what the Spurs are doin to their old veterans to keep them fresh and out of injuries for the playoffs. Another advantage of resting the stars in the regular season provides opportunities developing their bench.

Pero sila Jordan di naman yata nagreklamo about the 82-game season ah? Malas lang talaga players ngayon siguro. Freak injuries lang mostly siguro. Aside from 7ft players like Oden and Bynum na marurupok mukhang di naman siguro pwede i-attribute sa 82 games yung injuries.

Although...logically, pwede nga naman bumaba probability of injuries with lesser games kasi nga mababawasan chances of getting injured. And less wear and tear.

The CAVS have a deep line up.
LBJ should have no problems giving a ring to Cleveland unless some unexpected injuries occur during the season.

Players are getting bigger and faster. When big bodies bang against each other, something is bound to break.

I think the Spurs are still THE TEAM to beat. Iba talaga pinakita nilang basketball last season. It's new yet so old. Fundamentals that were forgotten but very very effective.

Indeed. Though IMO, the way their season ends largely depends on the kind of Tyson Chandler that shows up.

If Chandler comes in at great condition and relatively stays healthy, they'll make noise in the playoffs - home-court advantage or otherwise.

I'm not confident with their front court. Varejao and Love. No shot-blocking, lots of flopping. I think I can even score on that front court.

I too am not sold on the Cavs just yet.  Interior defense is a problem.  There's no post scoring so they depend on transition and outside shooting.  Two of the big three have not even tasted the playoffs yet.  So it's still unsure if they can handle the pressure.  Then bench depth has yet to be proven.

Bosh+Dampier/Zeke yung year 1 ng Heat big 3 di ba? Most likely kakapusin talaga Cavs if di sila makakuha ng rim protector. Kaya ito si Waiters traid bait for a rim protector yan, if ever.

Tapos compared sa Heat big 3 before, the other 2 guys Lebron played with had playoffs experience (and Wade was a champ). Kyrie and Love? These two will finally find out how much pressure it is to play in the playoffs.

As a longtime celtics fan, I'd rather watch a tanking lakers team with Bryant, than a Celtics team without Paul Pierce in the team.
I actually envy teams that really stick to their loyal starplayers like lakers-kobe, dallas-nowitzki, san antonio-dunkan parker ginobilli and heat-wade.
What the celtics did to Paul Pierce is unforgivable to me. Parehas naman nagkakalat celtics and lakers. Pero ang lakers still has kobe and is still wonderfull to watch than the celts bunch of young scrub players.

Both of us are Celtics fans.  But I support the move Ainge did.  Rebuilding is really necessary. I think it would be a waste of time holding on to Pierce and KG at their current rate.  You would just be extending the suffering.  And time that should have been used in starting the process.  Also it was some sort of a mutual decision as well.  Pierce still wants to go to a contender and be paid a premium for his services.  For him to still remain with the Celtics I think he should accept an annual salary of about $3 million.  The Celtics are going to be a lottery team.  And for a veteran like Pierce who is still competitive in nature, what would psyche him up everyday when you know all your efforts would amount to nothing.

^ sorry but your opinion is totally opposite to mine. Where are the celts the past two years now? And where are we heading? Certainly again not this year. I am totally against any total rebuilding. Dapat transition lang. Imho, Ainge really messed up since that title in 2008. He traded players that are relevant to the team ok lang kung me pinalit na ok pero wala e. Sinayang nya yung window of opportunities.
The rebuilding thru the draft doesnt mean a thing to me. Simply because wala namang super star players sa draft.
Just look at cleveland cavs. 3 times getting the #1 pick pero di makapasok sa playoffs.
Ainge let go of KG and Pierce and got what in return?
