Drafted in the 2nd round by the Kings in 2010. Waived in 2012.
Played overseas. Signed and waived by the Grizzlies in 2014.

Scouts probably overlooked him because the "*Thabeet" effect. Nung nag-bust si Thabeet, medyo hesistant na ang mga NBA team na mag-draft ng mga super raw big men early in the draft. And the Kings gave up on him too early because he wasn't locked up on a guaranteed 1st rd contract.

*Thabeet effect
Rudy Gobert (projected as late lottery) fell to the Jazz at pick 27 in 2013. Drummond (top 3 prospect) dropped to the Pistons at #9 in 2012. This year, it's Capela to the Rockets at #25. Usually, even guys like Daniel Orton (#29 in 2010) will be gone much earlier in the draft.

Bosh has no business being in the All Star game

How so?  Bosh is averaging 21ppg, 7rpg, a player efficiency rating of 21.0...his highest rating since he was a Raptor, 3pt% of 37%, true shooting % of 56% and defensive rebs % of 22%.  Those are All Star numbers.

I agree he's having a very good season so far despite missing a few games, but if you take a look at his All Star game stats, they are quite dismal. I don't think he gives his best during the All Star games. Probably worried about getting injured.

At the Centre position, IMHO, he won't match up well with the behemoths of the West - Gasol, Cousins and Davis. He plays more like a F than a C. He only averages 7.5 RPG. I think Kevin Love is a better choice despite the lower PPG.

But aren't all star selections based on first half regular season performance?  So all star stats aren't really relevant in the selection of all stars.  How can Kevin Love be a better replacement?  His ppg is down by 9 ave pts, has a FG% OF 42%(Bosh-47%), 3pt% of 33% (Bosh-37%), 2pt FG% of 49% (Bosh-50%), PER of 18.8(Bosh-20.5).

If you're worried about Bosh at the center position, what more Love replacing Bosh and going up against Gasol, Cousins and Davis.  Defensively Love is giving up 7.5FGs/game(Bosh-6.2), 15FGAs/game(Bosh-13.2), 50.3%FG%/game(Bosh-47.2%), and the difference an opponent's FG% versus when Love is guarding him +3.1%(Bosh-+0.7%).  So basically Love is more of a disadvantage defensively versus Bosh.

Technically, reserves are not selected based on pure performance. They are selected by the Conference coaches with the All Star coach probably having the last say. Which is why you have major performers like Lillard crying "snub."

My main reason really for saying that Bosh has no business there is is historical performance in the ASG. Yes, stats-wise he's a shoe in, but the ASG is the game for the fans. Bosh just doesn't bring it like the others. A waste of roster space if you ask me. Give it to someone else who's going to have fun and entertain.

Let's see though on All Star Weekend... I might eat my words.

But coaches actually do base their choices on 1st half performance. Yun starters ang hindi kasi nga fan voting. No favoratism there as coaches can't choose their own players. They don't base it on past all star game performance.  Also the All star coach doesn't have a last say on who gets selected.  But he does have the option of choosing who to start in case a starter gets injured.  Llilard is crying snub because it's the West and the Western Conference has a glut of all star PGs all of whom are deserving as well like Lillard.

Yes the All Star game is for the fans. That is why they are allowed to vote whom to start. But reserves are chosen by coaches who believe theIr performance during the first half of fhe season merit a selection.

I agree with you that given everything, he deserves to be an all star. Coaches can select him based on what he's delivered. I am saying that Bosh should acknowledge that and bring his A game this time.
