For now parang 7.2.4 pa lang ata doc. S pagka intindi ko, hindi ideal ang wall mounted at dipole s Atmos set up.

. and if ayaw mo naman ng ceiling speakers, meron add on module ilagay on top s existing speakers mo aside s speakers n made for Atmos.

I agree. Nakapanood nako sa Atmos theater sa greenhills and iba talaga especially for overhead panning.

Kaya lang masa bagay ata ang Atmos for large venues like public cinemas, for home theaters, malamang minimal ang improvement from a cost-benefit standpoint. I can hear overhead panning like a car jumping over my head from the back to the front, in my 7.2 setup.

Pero... baka sa kwarto ni streetsmart okay na okay ang atmos....

Though we got Onkyo's Dolby Atmos news earlier than the rest, sure enough, other electronics manufacturer are showing their support for Dolby Atmos surround by offering home theater products (mostly A/V receivers) with built-in Dolby Atmos decoding. Pioneer, Denon, Marantz and Integra have all sent out official announcements for upcoming products that will include Dolby Atmos decoding.

Pag gusto mo talagang maging updatded sa latest tech, eto ang magiging scenario mo:

Set up ka ng Dolby Atmos. Pag tapos na ang Atmos setup mo, lalabas naman ang open-source MDA ("Multi-Dimensional Audio"), pushed by Barco (Auro) and DTS.

Upgrade ka na naman.

I hope the front wides are included in the so called traditional speaker configuration(in 9.1.2). Ganda pa naman ng effect ng wides IMO.

Kailangan din ng speaker switcher pag lumabas na ang DTS format. Kaya dalawa rin ang receiver mo, one for Dolby and the other one for the DTS compatibility. Or kung ayaw mo ng switcher, dalawang HT setup -).

^ not really, receivers and pre-pros would most likely feature both, just like you don't need separate processors for Dolby and DTS formats today.

Does that mean the audio signal should be encoded on Blurays to enjoy that option from a receiver supporting the Atmos?

Yes, just like regular Dolby and DTS need to be encoded on DVDs et. al.

Baka powered speakers kasi hindi na ata magkakasya sa receiver ang additional 4 amps sa module.
