The high pick & roll with Jeron + (big) was effective during the crucial last minutes of the game. Prince Rivero stepped up as well. Manipis talaga guard lineup ng DLSU.

Great win by the Blazers over the Red Lions.  One of the more exciting games in the NCAA indeed.  Congrats to CSB ;D

FEU beats UE, despite 31 turnovers.  Same story as DLSU.

The problem really with an all game long full court press is that it must be executed with perfection and ALL PLAYERS DOING HIS PART.  If not players tend to get exhausted, tired to score efficiently.

Just like what happened again vs FEU.  Napagod ulit players ng UE.  Dapat super fit ang mga players talaga.

Agree. I don't understand why they keep on pressing when they've got Charles Mammie protecting the ring. They should let Super Roi Sumang do the offense with Arafat contributing and Charles mammie protecting the paint.

If I were UE, I'd use the press when needed only para unpredictable sila.  And they keep fresh legs.  Meron dapat silang ibang defensive play na interspersed with the press.  But di naman ako coach so IMO lang naman.. hehehe.

Letran beats EAC, 63-61 in another exciting match.

Unfortunate that NCAA games are less watched than the UAAP.  NCAA has been having some great games lately...

The suffocating full court press is the trade mark of the Pumaren System so I doubt they will ever change it.

Yep. And effective naman ang full court press sa collegiate basketball. Sa pros, not so much. The opposing guards will easily break the press.

Another exciting game yesterday between Arellano and JRU where the Bombers beat the Chiefs, 99-98.

NCAA games have been very good lately ;D

Mukhang malalaglag na UE sa Final 4.
NU is a serious contender for the championship this season even w/o Parks.
I think they're the best defensive team so far into the season.

Wow impressed with Ateneo. Would never have predicted that they would beat DLSU and FEU in any round this season.

Deym!!  :o

==================

NCAA Jrs: San Beda massacres Lyceum, 171-14

MANILA, Philippines—The San Beda Red Cubs on Monday, July 2, clobbered the Lyceum Junior Pirates by an astounding 171-14.

PBA anchor Aaron Atayde posted the final score via his Twitter account.

The win (and the final score) obviously didn't come as a surprise at all. At halftime, the score was already at 92-2.

This isn't the San Beda Juniors' squad's first impressive win in the current National Collegiate Athletic Association season. Last week, they won 104-70 over Arellano University.

It also isn't the first time the Red Cubs ended up clobbering an opponent. Twitter user Nardy Madrasto (@NardyM) posted this piece of trivia on Twitter:

The Red Cubs' dominance isn't completely unexpected; they emerged champions of the last NCAA season with a clean 18-0 record at the end of the eliminations.

Their only loss of the season came during the Finals series against the La Salle Greenhills Greenies.

Still, the 171-14 win is rather surprising given the huge gap. Here's how people on social media are reacting:

Kobe Paras being recruited to play in the US NCAA.

If we go by the suggestion of some to disallow "imports" here in the NCAA & UAAP, then Kobe should not play as well in the US NCAA?  Same argument right?  Sayang naman ;D

Not the same bro ...... aside from Kobe Paras, I cant recall anyone else now and in the recent past (or even in the not so recent past), who've been recruited and courted to play collegiate hoops stateside.

One cant even put Japeth in the same boat, since he was hardly recruited and mostly tried-out on his own to get a slot in an NCAA program.

So, Kobe Paras is a very small blip in a big radar ....... if it does happen, he wont be creating a stir by displacing many other just-as-worthy recruits.

As for the imports playing here - they are everywhere, in both big and small collegiate leagues.

Like I've posted more than a few times, basketball is one sport where our country has an over-abundance of talent ....... thousands just waiting to be discovered and given their shot.

Kulit lang ng mga batang 'to  ;D

Sayang, if he won't suit up for the green and white jersey. But it won't guarantee La Salle a championship. Maybe he looks like Van Opstal, only good in juniors but struggled in the seniors.

He's already attending an LA based school - Cathedral High School. He graduated already from LSGH last year and there was speculation as to where he would go. His father said that it would be DLSU if the US plans falls through since they owe a huge debt of gratitude to Danding Cojuangco.

He's being recruited now by a NCAA div I school -University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) Anteaters.

UC Irvine offered 2016 6-foot-6 Wing Kobe Paras out of Cathedral HS (CA) today according to a source.
