Di kaya sa vid ang problem and not the panel.

I decided to run the episode sa LCD TV ko and ayun meron din, so sa video pala.

Mura yan ang benta sa akin 137k cash price sa ansons cash and carry nung first week of october. Kaya i'm so dissapointed kasi hard earned money ko yun pero walang quality control ata ang samsung kahit sa high end models.

But sir pwede naman cguro refund diba? just in case if you don't like there offer such as exchange it for an LED TV.

- Plasma break-in DVD - http://www.eaprogramming.com/downloads/download_main.htm

- Test patterns (free, pero professional-quality) - http://www.avsforum.com/forum/139-display-calibration/948496-avs-hd-709-blu-ray-mp4-calibration.html

- Dead pixel tester (for laptop connected to the TV, plain slides din, OK for screen uniformity testing) - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/Dead-Pixel-Buddy.shtml

==========================

For me, Sammy 51H5000 plasma na lang + refund of the balance.  Payag ang Samsung diyan.  Yung 51F8500 ko nga, nireklamo ko kasi display unit, approved for refund by Samsung's main office.

Walang remedyo yan.

Also, we have to be careful when cleaning the front panel, hindi basta glass yan, may plastic filter na parang sticker.

Malala nga yung ibang series ng Panny plasma, green and pink pa:

Look for the green blob on the center and pink tint on the sides:

Panny VT30 (2011)

Panny VT50 (2012)

http://www.avforums.com/forums/16993902-post988.html

http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,162437.msg1770757.html#msg1770757

Don't use cable TV as basis.  Use test patterns.

Try AVSHD709 mp4 file (already linked above: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/139-display-calibration/948496-avs-hd-709-blu-ray-mp4-calibration.html

--- Basic Settings > 5-Sharpness & Overscan.mp4

There's slight green and pink, but it looks ok to me.  Horizontal line, marami talagang 64 incher na may ganyan.

http://www.avsforum.com/forum/167-plasma-flat-panel-displays/1472672-please-vote-do-you-have-faint-horizontal-band-samsung-f8500-plasma-series.html

External filter ang cause niyan.  There's no way to fix it, since the tech can't remove the filter and apply a new one.

On regular content, mapapansin mo lang yan sa snow, desert, sky, and other similar content with large areas of plain light color.

Actually kung yung pink tint lang pwede ko ng hindi ibalik pero yung faint horizontal line just above the middle of the screen ang nakakainis kasi when you are watching light blue or sky scenes o kaya naman white background tapos mag pan pa vertical makikita mo talaga . Ang hirap manood pag nakita mo na yung horizontal line kasi you cannot unsee it.

gud thing i bought the 51inch. maraming pala ganyan complaint  coming from 64 inch. owners but what i like the 64 incher is the excellent contrast and motion especially on 24p sources other than that ang laki nang power consumption nya almost 700 watts peak. you get that high consumption value when watching 3d materials. ouch... btw i don't use my 51F8500 for normal TV cable viewing to avoid unwanted retention image. we use it only for bluray viewing.

Extrapolating from the power consumption of the 51e550 and taking into account both peak watt ratings, I'd estimate average consumption at 400-440 watts when watching animated 3d movies (very bright movies). And probably 200-300 watts for ordinary movies (or dark 3d movies). It's high, but it won't be averaging anywhere near 700 watts.

Actually it is hard to see it with pictures . Pero pag video you can see it clearly specially on bright or sky scenes.

If those quirks such as pink hue and horizontal line bother you especially when watching, I strongly suggest you try to replace it.
Ive got a samsung led tv with 2 corners with clouding but doesnt bother me anyway.
Ask for a new unit! especially for a high end plasma

I already asked for a replacement but i still don't know if samsung will approve it.
I really like this tv specially when watching dark scenes  , colors look natural and excellent pq. I can't see any led that can defeat it's pq, But the faint horizontal line bothers me . At the back of my mind it tells me na pagtyagaan na lang yung horizontal line pero i paid a large amount of money for this  why would I settle for anything less?

How exactly do you bring these huge HDTVs home?

i use to have a 51e550, the power monthly consumption differences between my current plasma(51F8500) and my previous e550 is negligible to the point i don't bother it.

sir rafaelluis15, ang problema if they still have a replacement available? coz as you know samsung doesn't manufacture plasma TVs anymore. i understand it cost u 137k on that 64 incher but replacing it w/an LED tv on that price range, i'm afraid there's no LED TV that has a PQ likeness of F8500 plasma. those LED TV that has an excellent local dimming their prices would start at 200k, sony's 65X950B would be at 300k i guess? and it's not locally available.

Yun na nga ang problema , what if there is no more new available unit? Ito yung dilemma ko , pipili na lang ba ako ng led or i'll just stick with the faint horizontal line. i'll throw the question at you sir if you where in my shoes ano pipiliin mo?i'm not willing to spend 300k for a tv that can rival the pq of the samsung f8500.

I'll stick with the plasma if I were you and probably put on some lighting when you watch.  You don't need to watch in the dark on an 8500.

After a while, you'd just ignore the blemishes on the screen and stop watching the TV and start watching the content.
