Eico ST70 or Scott 299D?

Which one you will choose? Planning to buy any of this two, kaya lang hindi makapag decide kung alin sa kanilang dalawa..

Planning to match with;

Speaker - Klipsch Forte II
Source - Technics SL1200 MK3D

Mas-powerful si Eico ST70 pero maspogi si Scott. I'd go for Eico.

I had a 299D in the past, wonderful amp, very warm, I can listen to it for hours on end.

Thanks Sir, muntilk na nga yung SS na Luxman L100, malambing tumunog (tubey) @ more than 100 watts per channel.. Maganda din Phono stage ng Luxman L100.

Actually it is the Japanese Semiconductor industry that was the driving force
behind all these innovative products.....
at the time when american semicons were dishing out complementary output transistors
that had transition frequencies in the 4 MHZ range, the japs had devices in the 30 to 60 mhz range..
the japs clearly had the technical edge then...
so much so that Motorola which later became ON semi had to secure licences from Toshiba
to second source the 2SC3281/2SA1302 power transistors which they manufactured
with part numbers MJL1302/MJL3281.......
so it comes as no surprise to find japanese amps that are really classics......;)
