Topic: ONKYO TSXR608 Questions...New to HTR here

Hi!  I inherited my dad's Onkyo 608 receiver. 

I'm just kinda learning how to fiddle with it.  I'm lucky that it still complete and in good condition. I'm learning how to fiddle with it.  Here is my set-up:

LG LA6200 3D FHD 43 TV
LG Bluray player with 3d capabilities
Onkyo TSXR 608 (US Bought)
all wharfedale Set up.....Valdus Speakers (center, front, rear surround) Vardus Subwoofers 2 pcs, 2 vardus satellite speakers

Questions..

1. When I play BD's with DTS Master Audio - does it configure automatically? I press the listening modes and all I see in the display are PCM, NEO 6, PLZII, THX Cinema....what if I just wanna watch it in DTS Master Audio? Whats the default to make it play DTS-Master Audio? 

2. I wanna place height speakers? Will is play? Does all conventional BLUrays be able to play the height speakers?
