3D Bluray disc compatibility to set up
« on: Oct 10, 2014 at 08:40 PM »
Hi to all,

I just purchased a 3d BD but it does not play in my system. Says that my display or my player doesn't support.  My set up is:

Sony 4k TV with 3D
PS4 updated to latest software supporting 3d
Yamaha Rxv-633 receiver - doesn't support 3d pass thru

Fo you think the receiver is the cause?  Need your advice. Thanks

Have you tried connecting the  PS4 directly to the TV and see if it works? If yes then the avr is the culprit.
To Boldly go where no Bluray has gone before.

Workaround: use an optical cable to stream your ps4's audio to your receiver. That way you can still enjoy 5.1 audio with your 3d movies.
