Angled in-ceiling as LCR speakers?
« on: Dec 28, 2014 at 04:14 AM »
Hi! I'm considering putting a 5.1 system in my living room for occasional weekend movie watching.

Since it's not a dedicated HT room and a public area in the house, the idea is not to have exposed speakers for aesthetics and practicality (don't want the kids to touch them).

Anyone have experience listening to angled in-ceiling speakers? Is it similar with wall mounted speakers if mounted properly?

Any inputs or suggestions?

Thanks!

Check Goldenear Invisa HTR7000 and B&W CCM 7.4 :)

It's workable to have that mounting, but since the LCR channels are mostly direct sound still you'll hear the difference in height.

angled in-ceiling? matinding challenge yan sir...di pa rin ba puwede at wala na bang ibang way kahit mounted man lang sa walls? the kids cant touch it too.

for me, may mga available naman na in-ceiling speakers sa market but the downside is that you will be spending a lot more as compared to the normal setup. and despite the high costs, its still doubtful kung magiging maganda ang sounds.

I recently experimented on hanging my surround back speakers on the ceiling, forwarding them at the middle of the HT area at least 1 meter from the position of the left and right surrounds and i am now enjoying it. the setup provides a better surround effects.
