Hi Sir,

Eto kaya? Capable ba ito ng H.265? Got one, tried it setting to 4k, but don't have a 4k tv or 4k capable display. Tried setting the hdmi to 4k, it won't accept it. It has hdmi in/out.

Thanks

Thanks for posting this, napa-google tuloy ako may H.265 na pala. :)

Para di OT:
may available software codec's na ba for H.265?
If there would be, I'm planning on just using Raspberry pi2 in the future baka kakayanin.

if you don't like Android based player..you may want the VTEN by Popcorn Hour. The chipset is SIGMA same with Popcorn Hour A410..but its not yet available here, we just have the demo unit. Thanks!

Bought a Vensmile Mxv from Aliexpress last May 15, delivered last Monday by a friendly postman. Total cost: php 2150 (including 100 postal charge). Tried playing porn encoded in H.265 , no problem. Pq of of H.265 is almost the same with H.264. Whole season of Aquarius 720p, just 1.97Gig. Tried XBMC, it played flawlessly but when I tried to stop and change movies, it suddenly froze. Had to reboot it. Maybe the small ram size got to do with it. It cannot passthrough DTS-HD MA audio, receiver displays only DTS.. But for 2K++ media player, it is IMO, bang for the buck. Watched Iflix in it, very convenient.. 4 episodes of Aquarius non stop, flawless..

Saw a Xiaomi 4k player and different variants of HiMedia's Q series (iba iba presyo + features) in Mong Kok and Wan Chai. There was also an Xtreamer 4k player which was priced over 7k pesos.

Wala po. There's a limited selection of 4k media players that I saw. The best looking ones would be the Xtreamer and the Xiaomi.

Roku 4 is supposed to be H.265 capable, pero MP4 container ang nakalagay sa specs sheet.  Not sure if H.265 in a MKV container will work.  But this primarily a streaming device, than a media player.

Been reading up on HEVC, and it seems that software based transcoding will be demanding on resources.  Yung mga hardware based video cards ang kailangan to easily handle the new format.

I'll try to see if Plex/BubbleUPnP server can do transcoding, pero baka mag freeze buong NAS.  I'm not sure how the RaspPi's will cope.

I just got a Minix U1 lately via Lazada, but have not tried HEVC files yet.

Slightly OT, but can you help direct me to download sources of samplers or actual shows of various resolutions and framerates?

TIA.

Haven't tried 4K as I don't have a 4K display. I've played 1080p 10-bit anime files without any problem. You can also do a search for "hevc" in your favorite torrent site and you'll find quite a number of them.
