Maybe its just a different generation or an easing of player restrictions.

Lets face it, most of Steph shots are bad/ill advised shots. Yes they go in, but 10 to 15 years ago you will get benched for taking a side step fade away 3 pointer even if it goes in. Think Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Greg Popovich, George Karl and the Utah coach hehe

Maybe Phil has a point there, a lot of players could have been a Steph, but the basketball world wasnt ready at that time.

Did Mark Jackson give him the freedom to shoot when he was the coach?

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat quietly signed Joe Johnson to help them in their playoff push.

Kobe took a lot of those bad shots. Didn't get benched.

I don't think that Phil implied that there was a lot of players who could have been a Steph. He made a follow up tweet that he meant that there were just some similirities between the two. And it's a fair comparison, even Kerr compared Curry to Abdul-Rauf.

Curry was given a free rein even way back in the Mjax era. But Mjax ran a very stagnant offense, lots of curry ISOs.

Kobe made a lot of forced/contested shots, ill advised? maybe not, as it was part of a play or an isolation. (not a Kobe fan)

Don't get me wrong, I like Curry, he's a breath of fresh air, but you don't teach people to shoot 3-4 ft behind the three point line, you don't teach players to shoot near half court while warming up, and you don't teach them to shoot out of bounds in the baseline.  We were taught to shoot when there is a rebounder, finish strong on a fast break; not do a pull up 3, but this a new game, a faster game.

He is from a new generation, parang street ball type its all a show and its good for the game, for the NBA.

The shot he made against the Thunder, you can argue that 10-15 years ago, if he missed that shot people would say sira ang clock management, sana lumapit pa dami pang oras etc.

He also reminds me of Jason Williams of Sacramento, he used to shoot way beyond the 3 point line; pull up for a fast break 3; in the end, I think he got benched in favor of Bobby Jackson (?)

Let's face it, Steph is an outlier, plain and simple. Its a bad shot for every other NBA player, but Steph is the lone exception.

The sky hook was never copied by any other dominant center, becuase the mechanics to get it right were too difficult to master, making it a low percentage shot for any other center, except for the one person who holds the all time scoring record...Kareem.

Curry's dad (Dell) was one hell of shooter in his days. He was just on the wrong teams for the most part of his career and he was never featured as the primary offensive weapon of the team. His quick release is just as good as Steph's. It should come as no surprise to everyone that his kid is this good in shooting. What Steph has that his dad did not is the handle.  His brother Seth Curry is a decent player as well but not at the same level as that of Steph.

The game has changed a lot and younger players from this generation never took the effort in mastering a shot that will be their go to move. They see that dunking the ball as a better option because it brings the most applause and impact. Case in point a Dwight Howard...no go to shot whatsoever. Now Kareem is a different animal altogether.

Before this was automatic and nobody can stop it:

- Riley signals the play Index finger raised
- Magic relays signal to Team while bringing the ball down
- Team positions themselves and the Captain gets them 2 points.

6 championships and 6 time MVP for the man and a record which I believe will never be broken.

El capitan also has 6 rings and a 6 time MVP though his MVP years did not all coincide with the years when his team won it all. When the topic GOAT is concerned he is in the mix.

Best Finals Performance though (based sa ESPN) belongs to DWade.

Great win kanina vs. Bulls.

Cavs should be nervous.

curry wanted to rest a tender ankle and Iggy wanted to rest a tight hamstring.  Pero walanghiya nanalo parin in OT with the rest of the gang.  Goes to show that they are a really talented team, I cant even remember the last time Bogut topped 15 pts lol.

If Bosh is healthy during playoffs, Cavs would really need to be worried ... the Heats now has a very good starting five and deep bench ... and a lot better coach than Cavs

I enjoy watching the Celts as well. The young talent that they have is just fantastic. They play hard every night and the results are showing. They have a bright future ahead of them if they continue keeping the core of the team. Dami pa nilang high draft pick in stock for years to come. Sometimes in the NBA its really knowing when to give up on the present to secure the future. Had they kept the core of Garnet, Pierce, Rondo it would have been a disaster for them now.

yup, Celtics are playing well, but my only concern is that they do not have big stars that would be their designated go to guys which is important on the playoffs - this was the problem with Atlanta last year, very good during the season, but had it difficult during playoffs ... Miami would have the advantage in this area

The Celtics has a lot of potential and have assets and cap room to land a big name if they choose that route. They will not make a lot of noise in the playoffs this year but they were not even projected to in this year. I'll give them another 2 years.

Oo, I also just noticed that in the OKC vs GSW game.  Akala ko nga nung una, my eyes were playing tricks on me.  It's a nice feature, to easily show viewers that it's a 3 pointer.

ESPN coverage lang pala may ganito:
