Optical Connection Problem
« on: Sep 09, 2015 at 12:39 PM »
Hi,

I have this problem that I can't figure out yet.  :'(
I have my pc connected to my receiver via optical connection.
When I play a movie having a Dolby Digital/ DTS sound, receiver only outputs it as PCM 2 channel.

Any thoughts on how can I solve this?
I have tried the .mkv movie in my TV and it plays as Dolby Digital, with an HTIB so it is confirmed that sound is DD format.

Thanks in Advance!  ;D

Check PC audio settings baka naka-PCM output only.
Sent from my Pentium 166MMX using PS/2 keyboard

San ko po makikita yan sir to check?

Ang ginawa ko ay I selected the audio device (optical), then in supported formats tab, andun ang Dolby Digital at DTS option. nakaselect naman and then ng nagtest, tumunog naman ung speakers. Also, naigindicate si receiver as Dolby Digital and nagpalit to DTS when I tested DTS.

Pero when I play using either VLC player/ Windows Media player, output sa receiver is PCM 2 Channel pa din.

Thanks sir!

Yun nga ang problem. VLC player was not set to use the optical by default. Napagana ko na.

Thanks sir! =)
