It's going to be bloody.

Nagsisisi na kaya RoS that they drafted Ahanmisi over Scottie?

^ I have to admit, hindi ko din kilala si Scottie Thompson until the Semis.

A bit surprising that Yeng Guiao transfers now ........ more than a few reasons for this.

** MVP offer is guaranteed to be BIG money.

** RoS with many key FA's this coming offseason. They'll likely lose Paul Lee - Lee & his manager Chongson, has always had an iffy relationship with RoS management ....... Chongson hasn't been shy to admit that "contracts" from SMCorp teams are better and has long been plotting a Paul Lee move to SMCorp.

** Yeng Guiao is the ONLY coach in the PBA who loves reclamation projects and loves to build teams the old fashioned way.

Major role daw ibibigay kay Coach Yeng on NLEX's CSR. Since former congressman si Coach Yeng, this will help him in the next elections.

“Beyond basketball, NLEX has given me full control in the CSR (corporate social responsibility) project which would benefit my constituents in Pampanga since the company controls the operation of the SCTEX and NLEX,” the winner of six PBA titles said.

Meralco just wouldn't go away easily.  Two games na.  Lalamang gins, then comeback ang meralco. Good win for the Gins.  Maganda nga laban.  Hindi kasi sister teams.

Paul Lee's transfer to SMCorp has been years in the making ......... matagal nang naglalaway si Chongson (Lee's mananger) sa contract na makukuha nila ni Lee.

It's well documented sa PEX threads where Chongson is very much active.

Joe Devance said it best, when he demanded a trade from ALASKA years ago, despite already under a max contract and exposure (he was an MVP contender then) ........ "The PBA is a business".

=========================================================

James Yap has been playing horribly for the past 3-4 years now ....... its been Simon, Sangalang, Pingris, etc who had been carrying them for.

Still, its a major move for RoS since it gives them the ultimate face of the franchise, along with Chris Tiu ....... Lee's absence can be offset with their array of quality backup PG's.

It's the loss of Yeng Guiao which might set them back for a while.

I remember dati nun nagpapa transfer si Paul Lee sa SMC, ang reaction ni Tim Cone (who was still coaching Alaska at the time) was, "What's the difference between the max contract there and the max contract in another team?"

^ It was ALASKA owner Steve Uytengsu who said it ........ he has always been consistent about fair play and integrity in the PBA.

It was a sarcastic question of course, everyone knows that SMCORP and MVP teams have hidden side contracts and under the table deals.

ALASKA & RoS are the only teams who abide by the salary cap and doesn't resort to unfair practices on trades, draft picks, free-agents, etc.

============================================

Win-win trade for both STAR and RoS ....... RoS get a face of the franchise, with an array of quality PG's to replace Lee (Ahmanisi, Cruz, Trollano, Tiu, etc).

STAR gets a top-5 player (when healthy).

parang hindi din masyado. Paul Lee is damaged from injuries at gaya ng sabi ni newwaveboy, only when healthy.

I think the career of James Yap will be rejuvenated with his transfer to RoS.
