[HELP] Home Theater 5.1 Setup
« on: Jan 13, 2016 at 07:50 AM »

Maraming salamat! More power! :)

30k medjo bitin.

guestimate cost of equipment. Receiver around 15K, Subwoofer, 10K, Fronts, 7K, wala ka pang cables and players

You can start with 2.1 muna and add more speakers once funds allow. Take a look at Wharfedale speakers, their very good value for money.

Hi qguy,

If let's say my budget gets expanded. How much do you think an ideal 5.1 entry level setup would cost me?

meron package yun wharfedale about 20-23k with sub plus 2nd hand receiver. 30k medyo bitin if piece by piece...

Okay naman kaya yun, sir? Saan ko po yun masisilip?

I'm gonna use it kasi for gaming 40% of the time and 40% for movies, then 20% for music. I'm eyeing the Denon AVR-S510BT as my receiver, but I don't know which speakers will work best for it. Considering na maliit lang yung room ko. I guess I will not be needing players kasi this receiver has USB which I can use to watch movies.

months ago i was also looking at the price point and so far here are the options that collected

2nd hand receiver 5.1 (10k average) + JBL Cinema 510 5.1 (15k) = 25k
2nd hand receiver 5.1 (10k average) + JBL Cinema 610 5.1 (20k) = 30k
denon x510/520bt or onyko 313/333/4xx + those speakers mentioned above = 30-35k
receivers mentioned above + wharfedale package speakers with sub = around 30-35k

since you mentioned small room, gaming, movies, and little music = logitech Zxxx something around 15k something sa olx. no more receivers needed - from source straight to this one.

ayan, meron kana listahan :)

Pwede din! I'll look around to check for good offers. :)

Thanks, flashDB! Currently checking this.

I think yung tinutukoy mo is Z906 ng Logitech. I've been eyeing this actually. Pero nabasa ko from somewhere na mas better na magpundar na lang sa entry level na receiver, speakers, and subs. Thank you sa listahan. I'll use this as reference. Currently ginagamit mo na ba 'to? Okay naman? Alin ang nabili mo na?

try mo audition Ezekiel set ni sir Anthony

Sorry, zram18. Saan ito?

I have a dedicated HT, however, most of the time, I watch in my bedroom. I came across this dilemma as well months ago. Wanted to have a set-up in my bedroom with a limited budget. I was lucky enough to find a rare HTIB - Logitech Z-5500. Stand alone HT system. No need for a amp.

Highly rated HTIB. As soon as I found one (2nd hand), I took it right away and believe me, the sound this system can produce is amazing for the price. ;)

you can go to any SM Appliance center, perhaps Ansons, Abensons or Automatic center, for 30K, you will probably find Pioneer set ups that you can listen too. Any Pioneer package that will meet the 30K budget and you are happy with it, grab it.

Pwede ko naman i-expand yung budget ko. Magiipon muna ako ng konti para maitaas to 50k.

May nagrecommend na sakin nito dati. Kaso sobrang rare nga. Haha! Ang hirap makahanap ng 2nd hand. Pero thanks for advising it. :)

So it looks like 2.1 setup lang ang mabubuo ko sa budget na 30k. May mairerecommend ba kayo na specific setup? Tapos iuupgrade ko na lang to 5.1 in the future?

Bro, have you tested/confirmed movie playback on this AVR?
I browsed the owners manual and didn't see any mention of movie playback via USB.
It does play the common audio formats: WMA, MP3, WAV, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC.

Ang pagkaalam ko din, walang capability for movie playback.

Hmm. Talaga? Ganun ka-economical ang pag gamit na lang Logitech Z906?

Saktong 30k, iisang tao pati ang seller

Nako, wala pa akong budget on hand. Bubuuin ko pa lang yung pera. Kulang pa ng 10k. Just getting ideas on what to get and how much I need to save.

if you want an all-in-one solution, get the Onkyo HT-S3700 HTIB.

I might consider this actually. Upgradable ba yung speakers and sub nito?

yes. but for the sub, you'll need to get one that has speaker level line-in.

Yup kelangan pero relatively mura mga media players ngayon compared nung 5 years ago na 5k pataas.

How about if you have a smart tv with VLC app (e.g. sony w800c)?  Need pa rin talaga ng media players to play movies sa usb and decode ng surround sound audio files?

BTW, I am also in the same situation with johnroman19.  Same budget and looking at options listed in these thread.

Tingin ko pwede bro -- di ko lang alam kung pano isesend sa AVR yung multi-channel audio sa ganyang setup kasi wala yatang HDMI out ang TV. So limited ka sa digital coax/optical out?

I see.  I also think it might work.  Confirmed na walang HDMI out yung TV pero may digital coax/optical out http://i.rtings.com/images/reviews/w800c/w800c-inputs-back-large.jpg

I guess need na lang subukan to confirm if the usb alone can work without a media player.

If his tv is sony w800c, yes may hdmi arc yan. He does not even need vlc to watch movies with said tv...plug and play na yan via usb input ng built-in media player nung tv...
