Currently, I am using an older non-Dolby Atmos pre amps Onkyo 9.2 5508 and Onkyo PA 5500 9 channel power amps and wanting to upgrade to Dolby Atmos by not costing my arm and leg. Considering I would buy Marantz 8802 and share the power amps with the older Onkyo, is this possible without causing any problem like "short" or frying my system?

Also, what sound signature will come out with 2 different brands of equipment? Is it Marantz or Onkyo?

Considerations:
I want to keep my Onkyo pre & power amps so selling is not an option.
Onkyo power amps has input select switch between balanced and RCA.

not sure exactly what you mean, but surely two preamps can be used in one power amp, that is entirely possible...

You need an Amp switcher,  like a speaker selector for all 10 channels.  Sound signature would be a combination of both
