My experience with curved panels:
PROS
1. Fantastic CONTRAST, COLOR GAMUT and BLACK LEVELS.
2. Within an ideal viewing distance from the screen and slightly below eye-level placement, the sense of enhanced depth is really excellent.
3. In a semi-darkened room (I use soft-yellow glow lights installed in each corner of the room at the back of the TV), I don't have irritating reflections to deal with the curved VA-type panel's screen, which appears to me as neither matte nor glossy, more like an in-between.
CON
1. Very limited viewing angle versus HD flat panels that I used to own. If I sit within the "sweet spot" which is dead center everything is excellent but if move away from it slightly, the screen begins to pale considerably. As confirmed by some TV gurus, this problem doesn’t really become uncomfortable to watch until you get to around 35 degrees on either side of directly opposite the screen. (But then, I mutter: why would I even bother to sit off-center in my very own mancave? So that's where my LazyBoy stays, in that "sweet spot" and nowhere else.
