The only one with a fully authorized netflix app that will let you play movies in hd is the nvidia shield. All the rest has netflix app but will pla only in sd.

There are only two android tv boxes that will stream netflix in hd the Nvdia Shield and Wetek Core (not available here). All the rest will stream netflix only in SD and 2 channel audio.

If netflix streaming is the priority you may just as well buy a Chromecast. If you connect a Chromecast thru an AV receiver you'll get 5.1 audio.

PC should be able to play netflix on hd. IE, Microsoft Edge and Safari should be good up to 1080p while Chrome and Firefox is good for up to 720p. If you're not getting this your internet connection might not be fast enough. Check your connection speed using netflix's own speed test measurement at https://fast.com/

I,m getting 4.1mbps. Is it enough to stream 1080p at 5.1 audio? With Chrome I only get 480p and 2 channel. Will this app:

help?

What plan are you subscribed to? You need to be subscribed to P460/mo in order to get HD. We have similar internet speeds and I get at least 720p on my LG Smart TV.

You need the Netflix app to get 5.1 audio. You can change the data usage setting to High to enable HD video (if your plan supports it).

I think it's a nice solution, but I'm not sure how well it'd work here. I think it's only designed to work in countries that Amazon serve.

kodi can be installed so this should take care of the amazon restrictions :)
decided to order one from amazon.
