Or any recommendation on a 65-75” TV. Budget 60k

I would recommend the Sony Bravia 65" X85K (about 50k-54K).  It's Android TV, good pq (probably the best PQ in your budget), and already 120Hz capable (HDMI 2.1).  On the lower end I would recommend the Panasonic 65JX700S (about 30k-35k), it's a no-frills TV which supports all HDR standards (yup, ALL).  Also runs on Android.

For a decent midrange choice, I would suggest the TCL QLED UHD 65 C635; at under 45k, this can do wide color gamut, HDR10+ (yes, with a plus), Android TV, and 120Hz.

If you want size, at about 60k, the TCL 75" P735 is the largest 4K tv you could buy for your budget that can do Dolby Vision and Wide Color Gamut.

For the Sharp 70 inch, I think the only thing going for it is the "Made in Japan" thing, otherwise, it is not really a good choice for a big tv in 2022.

Thanks Sir. I will look on these models tomorrow especially the TCL and Panasonic. I don’t know if there are still a reliable Tv nowadays. Thinking,If I should just buy the cheapest-largest one.

I saw earlier the TCL 75” P735 at Ansons Cash and Carry. Priced at 59,995. Pero pwede pa siguro yan ibaba if cash payment. Ok naman ba quality ng TCL now?

Based on the TCL thread here in PDVD eh medyo mataas ang rate ng units na may issues.  Warranty service seems to be ok though.

Yun nga sir, nag babasa ako dyan and parang swertihan na amg tibay ng TV. Parang Samsung din namin, few months after warranty, nagkaproblema na. Buti pa yung Samsung Plasma and Sony LED Tv mga 2011. Ok pa. :)

May iba pa bang brand na medyo pwede i-compare na malapit dyan price na 75”?

[RANT]

So I was reading an article regarding the plan to switch off analog TV transmissions dito sa bansa (which is technically supposed to take effect next month)

https://bilyonaryo.com/2022/10/08/wish-lang-yan-felipe-gozon-says-shift-to-digital-tv-aint-happening-in-2023-with-70-of-pinoys-still-stuck-with-analog-tv/business/#:~:text=Five%20years%20ago%2C%20the%20National,have%20access%20to%20digital%20television.

Kaso lang, it might be delayed...dahil muh poors can't afford it

Not to go into poorshaming pero:
Are decisions held hostage because we need to cater to the lowest common denominator palagi?

Also:
Last time I checked, you can buy cheap HDTV for under 10,000 PHP
Case in point:
We bought our Xenon 40 inch 1080p LCD TV for 9,999 PHP back in year 2019 (Ansons Cash and Carry Makati).

Allocate ka lang ng 1000 PHP each month for a one whole year, makakabili ka na ng HDTV.

Kaya, there is no excuse to delay the Analog shutdown.
I mean why should we delay?

Dahil ba na hindi na makakanood ang mga gumagamit ng 1970 CRT TV at Baron Super Antenna???

Seryoso ba sila?!?!?!?

^^^I think a big factor is also digital coverage.

Set top boxes are cheap but they're useless if the signal isn't strong enough to be usable with mass-market gear. This is a huge consideration in the countryside.

It's really not that big of a deal if analog signal remains available IMO.

I think so too, but Bands I and III can be reallocated for other purposes once analog broadcasts are out. Right now all DTV broadcasts are in Bands IV and V.

The bands can be used for digital audio broadcasts for example. That being said, we may not benefit from it as much as many of our radio broadcasters are already using HD Radio tech on their existing bands.

Our setup is truly a mess. Using different systems for each purpose means that we can’t have a unified experience. One receiver cannot pickup all the services because we have a hodgepodge from different regions.
Digital TV Broadcast:ISDB (Japan)
Digital TV Cable:DVB (Europe)
Digital Radio Broadcast:HD Radio (North America)

In other countries your media center or TV would typically be able to access all three.

my understanding is that one of the primary reason for going digital is to free-up the bands used by analog transmission, hence it may be a big deal but I'm not aware about the immediate need to utilize those bands

Any recommendation for a 50-55 inch Smart TV that won't conk out after a year or 2?  I guess that excludes brands like Devant and the like.  I'm giving this to my dad.  Budget as low as possible.

I would consider the Mi TV's from local distributors.  Really good PQ for the price and comes with Android TV.  These use LG panels.

I have not heard, as of yet, of a 4k Mi TV conking out, and it's been around for a couple of years now.

This sometimes happens with many Android TV's, I would typically advise clearing cache and data on most used apps every now and then.

Kaya I always prefer Non-Smart TV than the Smart Ones... Tv that focused on superiority and reliability of displays. Sa labas nalang yung processor thru smart boxes.

Halos hindi nagagamit ang smart function ng TV namin.  I prefer using my Firestick and Android devices, mas mura pa ang upgrades if needed.

I haven't noticed my LG Smart TV's slowing down. I guess that's the result of having their own OS, though of course the apps are not as vast as Android.

Agree here, kaso hindi na magaganda ang non-smart tvs.
