still expensive for what it is, entry level edge-lit qled.
if you can wait prices will surely go down some more in the coming weeks.

was choosing between
lg 65uk6300 46500php and
samsung 65nu7100... 52000php

both are great.. nag samsung lang kasi ako kasi mas madilim ang blacks (still far from the higher end models) and my bedroom is dark... but for a livingroom... the lg i think is a great buy... sulit..

Yung 4166.58 na price pa din ibibigay nila sayo for installment. Yung less 14k is for cash and straight payment or call your credit card provider first and ask for a 0 percent installment plan for 34-36k straight purchase.

Yup. This is the best 4k deal atm on PDVD.  This is a really good price for a branded 55" 4k tv with HDR.

Hmm, maybe the display model? Ours doesn't have that. I want to get a 55" TCL for my room. Want to replace my 43" LG kaso ok pa kasi tv ko and I love LG's webOS. Kaso ang mura ng TCL and maayos din siya.

Many horror stories of TCL from PDVD members. Look up the TCL thread.

What they sell in the US is different from here. Mas maganda quality  for the US customers. ;D

Ill pick skyworth over tcl.

if half price... i would consider chinese makes...
like 32" got them for 4800php each.. avision...

nasa 10k yata samsungs series 4 32".. pero if similar price... i might not take the risk

napanood ko sa youtube.. madami nagsasabi tcl is great... kaya checked it out... when tv was off... nagandahan talaga ako.. but when it was on.... noticed the darkness sa sides... specially dun sa older model na naka display... S2 yata ang name.. 55s2... aluminum yung bezel.. medyo natakot ako kasi... nashock ng static when i touched it.. di naman carpet yung floor sa ansons...

Many Skyworth models are essentially rebadged Tosh tv's, particularly those made in Indonesia.

Similar situation for Hisense:

Question: using a 1080p media player (mede8er 800x3d) will this input in full screen on a 4k tv?

Is the upscaling feature of 4k tvs limited to videos played on its native player or it upscales hdmi inputs as well?

Since the TV is a 4K panel, it will upscale any content it receives to its native 4K resolution...
If the TV didn't upscale it, 1/4 lang ng screen yung ma-ooccupy ng 1080p resolution.
What the upscaling process does it to ensure that the picture fills the 4K resolution of the screen.
But take note that not all TV's upscaling capabilities are created equal, some are really good, others are not...

Slight correction here.  Some tv's actually can't upscale to 4k but merely just stretches the video to fit the panel and not have just "1/4 lang ng screen yung ma-ooccupy".  This is when the tv goes to full screen mode and not leave out black borders on the side or at the bottom.   This is similar to 1080p panels stretching out a 480p signal.
