I will be happy if Oladipo pans out in OKC. I think, this is already going to be his ceiling. I am hoping him to become a Dwayne Wade type of player, but he can only be Wade on defense. He has a shaky jumper, virtually no 3-point range, and it makes me cringe that he misses wide open layups. I guess the front office of Orlando already got tired of the slow development coming from Oladipo, plus there is a logjam at the wing, with Fournier and Hezonja just waiting to grab those minutes.

LA ready to actively pursue Whiteside as their 1st priority when free agency starts. Funny that they passed on Okafor who averaged 17ppg and 7rpg last year and then now they are willing to pay max money on Whiteside who did 14ppg, 10rpg and 3.9bpg. Whiteside though provides elite rim protection and in theory should be the last line of defense because Russel, Clarkson, Randle and Ingram are mediocre at best on defense.

Harrison Barnes and Ezili are also being targeted by the Lakers. Maybe they realized already that Durant going to LA is a pipe dream.

if it is based solely on reports, GSW is fontrunner after OKC. That is going to be a very difficult team to complete, you may have your first five but what about the bench? how much do they have to give up just to sign KD? a strong starting five will not win you a ring, you will still need an able bench.

Aside from Ibaka wanting a larger role & burning a few bridges with OKC (plus the emergence of Adams & Kanter) ....... Oladipo was taken as insurance, in case Dion Waiters goes elsewhere, not for KD.

I like small market teams, hope KD stays with OKC.

For me naman, i have a feeling na KD will stay.. They now have a good defensive guard in oladipo (not elite but could be one someday), wetscon is full of elite guards, kaya medyo may panglaban na sila sa backcourt.. Ibaka may be a good teammate pero i think he's overrated on both ends of the floor..

Watched ESPN and realized Steph Curry's salary for next season is just $12M+. Really? Many NBA scrubs are earning much more than the MVP. This is one reason GSW can make a serious run at KD and offer him max salary of approx $26M/year. What happens after that though? How do you renew Steph? How do you complete the roster?

Although Curry earns $12M only...the problem is several players earn more or almost as much. Currently they already have around $74M tied up with the cap at $95M. As it is, they can't sign KD. They have to let go at least 2 players from a combination of Jason Thompson, Ezeli, Harrison Barnes and Livingston to sign KD. As for Curry, teams are allowed to go over the cap to sign their own FAs.

Steph Curry was then coming from an injury, hence his value wasn't as high as what it would be right now, hence the below-market contract that he signed.

The good thing is, Curry accepts this and is cool about it ...... he'll get paid the max once his contract is up.

If I'm not mistaken Barnes and Ezili have been extended qualifying offers. Bogut is in serious jeopardy of being traded. and Liviingston's contract has just been guaranteed. I have a strong feeling that they won't try to offer a max contract to KD but the lure of a ring will be their trump card.
