If i was KD i'd do the same thing. i mean, who doesnt want to get that ring at least once in your career? think Patrick Ewing.

He got nothing to prove anymore as a player. He just needs a championship ring at this point.

Besides, whats the point of all the arguments about players and their decisions and how it affects whatever? laking big deal naman for mere spectators lagi ng mga bagay bagay! i mean, i know a lot of hardcore bball fanatics who care less about all that drama and just loves the game as it is played.

Watch and enjoy folks. watch and enjoy.

Parang big talk lang yan, basta may pagtatalunan, pagtatalunan. Therein lies the fun.  Kahit senseless nga yung mga debate gaya ng is MJ still the GOAT? Or si LBJ ba? Could the '96 Bulls win over the '17 Warriors in a Finals match?

Obviously we won't see it happen. Pero masarap pagusapan kasi nga, what if scenario.

Basketball is obviously an emotional sport, and said emotion on the court carries over off the court.

Hardcore, diehard, rabid, detached, indifferent, we're fans all the same. With just varying ways of expressing it

I think it's okay to chase rings if a player's not in his prime anymore or if he's just a role player. Pero kung franchise player and in his prime? It's pride, more than rings, for me, in this case.

I agree nothing wrong with chasing rings. But of course drop the talk about being GOAT or even close to that.    ;D

what is the league all about? isnt it for a team to be crowned the champion? the best amongst the rest? thats why nagkakaroon ng playoffs>semis>finals di ba? so that one team stood and battled it out and be declared the best team of the season.

hindi single player ang ginagawaran ng karangalan at the end of the season as a champion. its the team. the individual awards are there for that matter.

i dont think there is a single player who got into the NBA who didnt want to be part of a champion team at masaya na as a "role player" whether he's a rookie or a veteran. every players goal is to win a ring coz if not, i think he's playing the wrong sport.

and having said that, isipin niyo na lang din how many players that played in the NBA since it started has a ring or two or more sa daliri nila? napakaliit na porsyento lang ang nagkaroon niyan. less than 20% siguro?

who wants to be a great basketball player, even have a legendary status, but has no ring on his finger? now that is sad.

I remember Barkley said he wouldn't trade his career for a championship if it meant being an unforgettable player. I think he even mentioned Jack Haley.

When you think about it, anybody can actually win a ring given the right situation. But not everybody can have a legendary career.

nasabi lang niya yan kasi isa din siya sa mga players na highly regarded pero hindi nakamit ang championship ring. hehe

Not really.  His answer shows it was well thought out.  He achieved daw fame and fortune with more than a decade long career sa NBA.  He was part of the 50 greatest players of all time and his job with TNT was because of his career.  He wouldn't exchange it daw for a ring with a 4 year career and being bankrupt.... if I recall correctly.

Pero think about it also in the case of John Stockton.  He is arguably the second greatest pure point guard in NBA history.  Until now his assist and steals records may never be broken.  He is highly regarded eventhough he didn't win a ring

:D  Only he wouldn't exchange his career for a ring in the scenario in question.

Not everyone will be given the privilege to win a championship .......... that's just the way that basketball or other professional sports goes.

No one should think less of guys like Malone, Barkley, Stockton, Ewing, Miller, etc just because they didn't win a ring.

KD still in his prime and he gave up his pride.

It's just like any other sports. Kahit anong galing mo kung hindi ka nag champion, parang balewala. How do you know the feeling of an NBA player that doesn't have a ring yet? Barkley? He's just sour graping.

My point guys, let's not assume their feelings and their take on getting a ring. Nothing beats the feeling being a champion.

hindi namna balewala yan sir.

as long as ang name mo hindi makakalimutan and will live forever.. yan ang unang unang aim ng mga players sa kahit anong sports.

I feel bad for korver and d will. These guys are quality players (d will is an olympic medalist) but wasted talent with the cavs rotation and use of them.

The only way for Cavs to win a game is to get very physical with the warriors. No easy dunks and lay ups. Larong distrito dapat. Kaya lang with gsw enforcers (pachulia, barnes, west, green, iguadala) eh yun din gagawin nila kay lebron, irving and love.

Mapikon lang nila si green ayos na sila.
