Topic: How to enjoy listening music with your Home Theatre Set-up better?

Hi!

Before, I just have a receiver (ONKYO 636) and floor standing speakers (Paradigm Monitors). When I tried listening music (Using Spotify Connect), I liked the staging of this set-up.

Now, when I got the center speaker and then listen to music (no subs yet), it feels like there's something wrong with the staging. Note that lahat ng speakers ay gumagana....

Question: Is there something I should do to make the most out of my system? Pinapatay ba ang center speaker usually if you want to listen to music because it messes up with the staging? What about the subs in case I install one? Should this one be switched-off too if listening to music is what I would like to do?

For audio listening, stereo is more preferred

it depends on your kind of music and your personal preference. center speakers are meant for movies especially conversations of the actors/actresses on the screen.

ideally for music listening, 2.1 is preferred instead of 3.1 or 5.1

Depends siguro sa pagkaka calibrate mo ng system mo.  You need to recalibrate if you added speakers.  For me I prefer listening to music in 9.2

Dun mo maeexperience ang galing ng system mo, if you can able to determine the separation of instruments, soundstage, and how the music envelopes you, As long as you're sitting in a stereo system's "sweet spot," you'll be hard-pressed to even point out the speakers' locations.


My opinion is if it's a two-channel recording then listen in two-channel. If it's a 5.1 surround recording, listen in 5.1 surround.

mine is 626 + Full range, since pampatulog ko ito from 10pm till morning.

pure audio mode ako since mas oks yung sound at mas less ang init since disable nga yung ibang component.

at feeling ko mas matipid sa kuryente.

sa pure audio naman is working pa rin ang wireless at network streaming feature ng onkyo.

Same pala tayo nung naglagay ako ng CS, nagkaproblem din ako kaya tinanggal ko na lang yung CS.. hindi ko na rin tanda kung sa Pure mode kung matic disable ang CS.

Stereo for music for me. I dont like all speakers working when listening to music. But this is just me..
