Netflix Ultra HD with HDR
« on: Sep 16, 2016 at 10:01 AM »
Wanna share you screenshots of Narcos season 2, streamed via Netflix 4k.

Display is Samsung KS7000, and I have watched the first episode in Movie mode (picture quality), and after finding the HDR mode (which you can only toggle on when the content is in HDR), the differnece in PQ is amazing.   CHeck out the screenshots.

Im thinking, HDR will be the next big thing in content, and before upgrading your TV, make sure it is HDR-capable already.

I am about to sign up for Netflix for 4K content. Are they as complete as Netflix in the US in terms of HD and 4K content?

That I would also like to know. Sa full HD kasi, hindi lahat ng meron sa US available din dito.

Most if not all of the selected ultra hd content they have are the Netflix produced series.

I got my 4K TV this afternoon.

I was wondering why it was displaying TV shows in 480 and 1080 rather than 2160.

Be aware that even if the TV series indicates it is in 4K it does not mean that all the episodes or seasons are in 4K.

Netflix's internal speed test indicates my wired Internet connection to be 47.xx Mbps. My Fibr account is 100Mbps.

The speed measured is to the netflix server and not PLDT's, which is the reason for it being a lot slower than your 100Mbps subscription.

In any case, 47Mbps should be enough to stream in 4k, as the minimum requirement is 25Mbps.

Could it be that the episode starts playing at 1080p (or less) and then just throttles up to a higher resolution as the video gets loaded further?

You are correct about the speedtest

Within PLDT's network it is 100Mbps

Outside it drops to half.

Not a bad trade of it it means local traffic is faster.

It is possible that I a family member has something downloading in the banckground.

Either way Marco Polo's awesome. :)

sa lg 4k tv ko ganun din may time 2160 minsan lower ..... i think depende sa speed nung internet provider....minsan kasi kahit per speed test 50Mbps ang na ka lagay yung actual mas mahina....saka napansin ko na during peak hours hindi maka 2160 yung TV.
