what version of kodi you're using? baka may issue sa pass thru. try the native player - the one that is being advertise/recommended app by the manufacturer.

btw, i have minix neo x7 - flashed firmware to 250. laki ng improvement in terms of speed and stability.

Hi, thanks sa mga reply. anyway i'm using KODI 16.1.

Yes, Spmc and kodi have different signature. You can install both. I have both kodi and SPMC in my shield box.

Hi Guys Merry Christmas! Kakabili ko lang ng TX3 pro nung Dec 23. Tulong naman, di ma-recognize ng AVR ko DTSHD at TRUEHD using my new media player with KODI app. Pero using my old player which is Xteramer Prodigy nare-recognize nya DTSHD and TRUEHD. Passthrough already enable sa KODI and sa media player mismo. any other configuration needed? thanks.

Try installing SPMC (Kodi)
Working ang HDMi Passthrough even Dolby Atmos

hi sir, test a little bit more.  i meant all your other media files with DTS HD MA and TrueHD.  it may be isolated with one or some of your files.

though you mentioned they're all okay on your Prodigy and if still not working with your newly bought TX3 Pro, the best sir, isoli mo nlang.

we can't be the testers for them especially if they advertised as working pass-thru with 8ch audios -- yet they aren't.

Yung database na update library ni kodi, do you export them ?

What if you change disks, does the library saved to the disk gets restored? Or you have to restore it ?

I already tested several movies and made several configuration but to no avail. I don't know if they will accept this if i will return it. I think the 5G advertisement of this unit also a mistake as the unit can't detect my 5G wifi.

have you also tried with installing SPMC?  best to let them know as early as now so that change of unit may be considered.  otherwise, return it for flaw in their advertisement claims.

wish you good luck, sir...

Kodi uses a single database file. But you can back them to individual movie folders by exporting them.

Export library and pick separate file. It will save it on individual movie folders.

Kodi automatically  gets  metadata, nfo, thumbs, etc etc in this order. Local info saved in movie folders then movie scrapper if you selected one.

Only way to make the database follow the disk  is to install kodi  as a Portable app.

So I export to individual folders
Plug my disk to the unit
Clear library
Import folder

I don't have to do this sa Egreat but am not complaining, loving the speed and smoothness ng GUI

Are you taking your disk from one kodi box then plug it to another kodi box?

If that is the case. That is correct. The Movie thumbnails, actors  etc etc goes in the individual folders on the disk.  Which  the new kodi box will grab it from to put it in its library/database file.

Clean library does not remove thumbnails/movie info if the movie folder is still present. What it does it removes the thumbnails/movie info if you deleted a movie folder.

So if you are just adding new movies from a disk. You just add it.

But if you deleted a movie folder or removed a disk. You need to clean library

Thanks !  Yes a friend asked for his disk to be set to his unit we have the same Himedia model,  so I will just :
update his disk with me using  my unit
Export per folder
Send over his disk
He imports after (or will the auto update library take care of this ? will check)

Does the disk have all his movie? or An empty disk that you will copy movies from your NAS?

If it is an empty disk. Just export your library to separate file/individual folder. Then copy those folders to your friends disk.

When  he gets home if he added the disk or a directory where the movie folders are auto update will take care of this.

Kodi as I posted earlier. Searches thumbnails, nfo, actors etc etc in this order;

1. Local info or individual folders
2. Movie scrapper if you have selected it.

So before letting your friend go home. Just check some individual movie directories if they have  thumbnails. arts, nfo, etc etc

kodi usually put a . before a subdirectory in the movie folder.

example.
.actors folder or  sub directory in the movie directory

Did you notice if it has an.nfo  it will assume the folder already has the cover/art and won't fetch from the net and manual update is necessary just to replace the blank cover? Any workaround there?(Ideal is it autoscraps even if may .nfo but no cover)

Also if you have a bdmv folder under a title, seems it will treat the title folder as the movie title, but will tell you it has no video and will recursively find a video and suggest the wrong cover automatically? I would surmise it's due to a bdmv folder that has no video file under it  and without an  .nfo  it will consistently fetch a Russian cover art.  Dunno if I described the problem clearly but saw 3 of my bdmv appearing Russian when they are all marvel movies BdMv folder

Konti Lang naman sa current hdd ko yung bdmv but it will be a pain once I add my BDMV drives sa 8bay Mediasonic dock. Maybe I am missing something

Alot of times, I delete the .nfo especially if I do not like it.  If I am not mistaken.  The movie database service will provide what is missing in the folder.  So far, whenever I delete and .nfo but with the other . folders intact . It does not download anything if it has it already in the local folder just the .nfo.

I might be wrong, but whenever I delete .nfo  and add a movie folder. It just download the files I am missing and keeps the one already there.

It just  makes sense. Whoever running the movie  database service need to conserve a bandwidth. And the addon they programmed might exactly  doing that.

Imagine how much bandwidth they are saving by avoiding duplicate or existing file from being downloaded over and over again by hundred of thousands of Kodi users.

About your BMDV problem. You can try   a manual search for it and manually select the actual correct film when you do right click the movie  thumbnail then movie information --> refresh.  If you do not find the correct movie you have to look for it.

The movie database need some intervention.

It might be bmdv rip folder name might coincides with a previous entry on the movie database by someone from other country that might be a totally another film.

It would be a big mess if you manual search for it  but still it does not show the right movie choice.

Maybe a trick for the bdmv without a folder level file content would benefit putting the .nfo for the same title.  Or might move my bdmv format to ISO, will play around

Tried and worked, had to type up the title manually and ok na for one off bdmv finds .

sa Maramihan titles will try muna  .nfo to guide the scraper first.
The other workaround siguro is to add a zero byte video file to trick the scraper to read the folder name containing the bdmv path

Everybody wants to have a 4k capable media player that plays full bd menus....

But unfortunately, we all know that is not possible as of the moment.

But we know that some play simple menus flawlessly.

Now here is my question, is there a way to convert existing bdmv files into iso files with simple menus so we can still get at least a semblance of the menu when using kodi.

Do we need to buy a software like nero burning rom or is there a freeware that we can do this.

As a fan of extras i find a hard time browsing through the files and would rather have a simple menu if the full bd is not possible.

That is the only reason why i still use my popcorn hour c300 over my zidoo x9...

Thanks
