Cosmetic issue

did you not check the item before you took it home? The moment you stepped out of sir mike's compound, you waived any and all claims for cosmetic issues. So, don't rant about it.

On the other hand, if you checked the unit before you went home, you should have seen it there and asked for another unit.

As stated by the other members, it is very diffult to set up the subwoofer. It is a trial and error process. It's not like jack's beanstalk that you throw anywhere and then watch it magically grow.

Your sub is a very superb sub. I just hope that you are not using the supposed cosmetic issue to cover up your inability to use your sub properly and ask for a replacement.

Anyway, an offer from sir mike is on the table. I suggest you take it.

im about to buy svs sub pb1000 this month and hindi biro ang 30k pesos for an average person like me. ang wori ko lang, although cosmetic issue lang naman yata yan, baka kasi pag bibili na ako ng svs pb1000, yan mismo ang ma-pick up sa bodega nila. baka kasi mangyari din sa akin nangyari sa u. ako kasi i dont have the luxury of time to return a bulky heavy sub and also the hassles that accompany the return. pag bumili ako, gusto ko one shot na, wala ng balik balik para walang hassle.

its good that sir mike allows return of merchandise with full refund. yung iba kasing av shop, no return-no refund ang policy.

For me its a very minor cosmetic issue and should not affect performance.
Extended part na ng bond yong part na yan. Im not an expert though...

Ano bang source mo ng movies? Bluray? Mkv? Iso? Gaano kalaki ang file? Have you tried movies with dts hd master audio track? Or true hd.

i've received the unit from sir jaythan.
the pictures seem to make the "cosmetic issue" very serious.
closeup picture kasi. 

to the naked eye, it looks normal.
it is just excess adhesive for the dust cap.  (besides being normal, it does not affect performance at all)

i will do a listening test before putting it in the b-stock store.

p.s. sinilip ko itong 150k subwoofer na pinapakinggan ko ngayon, ganon din adhesive ng dust cap nito.

Agree the close ups magnify the "cosmetic" issue. I've seen other brand new drivers with much worse adhesives.

got the refund from sir mike kanina.actually hindi ko kasi sya nainspect nung kinuha ko sya nung last saturday.since  pick up lang ang usapan and no testing.dahil mali set up ko its either refund or no warranty.so since baguhan ako i opted for refund.parang ayoko na nga sanang isoli kanina nung tinuturo na ni sur mike yung tamang pagamit pero since andun na rinefund ko na rin.dapat pala tumawag na lang ako para magpaturo at baka pwede na ulit 3 yrs warranty.

now its either kuha ako svs with one year warranty na lang(other store dahil bad record na kay sir mike)or other sub na lang

yung sa adhesive madami nga nagsabi na wala yun at ok lang late ko nalaman and sana hindi ko na lang sya pinansin.(first instinct kasi check muna physical na hitsura bago loob.hehehe)since new lang ako dito sa ht  madami pa ko kaylangan matutunan talaga.

special mention sir nelson maraming salamat ss pagalok ng tulong pero nakakahiya talaga. siguro sir kapag may event na lang at pupunta ka.surely dami ako itatanung syo doon.

Mabait lang si Mike C pero lugi sya sa deal na to. Baka nga mas matibay pa ang kapit nyan due to excess glue. Once covered w/ grill wala ng papansin nyan other than sa iyong isipan.

The best talaga you find ample time to audition esp subwoofers dahil mabigat at mahal. Kung nagtyaga ka sanang nagpaturo muna kay Mike at audition 3 subs prior.

Lesson learned that is pero sayang din naman ang mga payo namin syo dahil nagmadali ka. Ayan tuloy sa una palang medyo dismayado ka. Ang sarap pa naman ng feeling na pagkasetup mo mapapangiti ka sa tuwa dahil you experience something different at sulit ang pinag-ipunan.

Now, ano na ang target mong sub?

actually napangiti ako ng todo sa 3oclock at +6db kaso napaisip ako na mukhang mataas masyado.ang ginamit ko na pang testing ng movies na cartoon is 2oclock plus 4db pwede din(yung mga bata natuwadin) kaso mali kasi ginalaw ko pa yung gain nya at sensitivity pagkatapos ng calibration.

pagiisipan ko yung 12 inch dahil sa  budget problem.

i might try to audition marco pilyo sub also kaso wala pa daw box(much cheaper)

wharfedale 230,200c,dfs-sobrang ok na ko dito dahil sa pandinig ko sobrang satisfied na ako.
yung pioneer vsx531-yun lang kaya sa budget na bnew

no sub yet.wla pa burn in period.baka 3-5 hrs pa lang nagagamit.kahit sa music mamimis mo yung sub.hindi kaya kahit naka large pa setting.

Bitin nga syo ang sinauli mong svs... Mag Pilyo ka na nga lang habang pinagiipunan mo ang svs o other known brands.
