How will CP3 and Harden co-exist at point guard?

I have little issues with NBA teams stacking up on superstars ....... it's not a guarantee for anything (90's BLAZERS & ROCKETS, '04 LAKERS, etc), it's all done within some of the most structured rules in all of pro sports & it brings a good product to your fanbase and the viewing public.

Kaya wala kang masabing masama sa NBA. The NBA has some of the most structured rules in all of professional sport ....... its dynamic too, they adjust accordingly when the need arises e.g. waive clause.

Every team is on equal footing - nagkakatalo na lang sa pag-manage mo ng team, coaching, salary, draft, free-agents, etc ........ of course, some teams have an inherent advantage (big market teams e.g. LAKERS, KNICKS, etc) over othe teams, pero in the end its about good management, good coaching and getting the right players.

dahil sa paglipat ni KD sa GSW last season nagkaroon ng "Kevin Durant" Rule under 2017 CBA (Wikipedia). :) :) :) :)

"The provision in the 2017 CBA that will allow teams to create Designated Player contracts for their own veteran players, officially known as the "Designated Veteran Player Extension" (DVPE), came to be called the "Kevin Durant Rule" because it was seen as a reaction to a wave of veteran superstars leaving their teams in free agency, capped off by Durant's departure from the Thunder to the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 offseason. The 2011 CBA allowed all of the teams that were trying to lure Durant to offer him the same initial salary of $26.5 million ... "

Report: The Houston Rockets are trying to land Paul George to Npair with CP3 and Harden. Trade piece is Eric Gordon to Indiana.

Source: Brian Windhorst of ESPN

-hmmmm...trying to make a superteam?

Sent from my ASUS_T00J using Tapatalk

I have no problem when management make trades, thru drafts and moves to land 3 or 4 stars. I have a problem when players leave a team thru free agency and join others to make superteams. Although it is their right naman, but hindi na fun basketball. That's just me.

Example, ako houston fan talaga, if they also land paul george thru a trade, i have no problem with it. If next year lebron james leaves cavs and goes to houston to make a superteam of paul, harden, george, lebron, then i have a problem with it. But, no choice to accept it and enjoy the ride.

Im sure people who criticize lebron here will accept him with open arms if he will sign with their  team.

Lebron and durant started this bruhaha. Very unfortunate ganun na takbuhan ng nba ngayon.

Philly is another team i like. They do it thru drafts. Sasabihin they will be their mentors hehe..

my thoughts exactly. both are effective when the ball is in their hands and orchestrating the offense. parang nde ma-maximize talent ni Harden if 2-guard sya, waiting for CP3's pass. same goes with CP3 if ever gawin siya SG.

Houston's current depth chart post-CP3 trade:

PG - Paul
SG - Harden / Gordon
SF - Ariza
PF - R. Anderson / Nene
C - Capela

They're probably not done dealing for another big time FA yet, but I think they just need to add secondary pieces to compete with the Warriors. Medyo solid na 'to.
We deserve better.

For the ROCKETS sake, this only works if CP3 stays really healthy .......... CP3 always seems to get injured around playoff time.

Medyo masakit mawala si Beverley and Williams ........ tough rotational players, both on cap friendly contracts to boot.

Maybe they want to rebuild? Start fresh?

The biggest ones .....

He mandates that his head-coaches (Fisher, Rambks & Hornacek) exclusively run the triangle offense, which looks lost in todays fast-paced NBA ....... as Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, etc and a few other legends playfully say ~ the triangle offense only works if you have a Michael Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, etc.

Questionable transactions ....... He has traded nice role players (JR Smith, Shumoert, Chandler, etc) for little in return. Had given an albatross contract to an injured Noah and had resigned and even gave a no-trade clause to Melo.

Totally alienated his star player Melo, diminishing any leverage that he had for any potential trade ........ I'm in no way a fan of Carmelo (I dont think anyone is), but Melo did not deserve  the tratement that he got from Phil Jackson. Heck, even Porzingis didn't agree and didn't bother to attend his exit interview.

When even Scottie Pippen says that Phil Jackson needs to get fired, that says a lot.

I think Knicks will rebuild, move some contracts i.e. Carmelo, and build around Porzingis. finally, they can ditch the triangle offense, and use Hornacek's offense which was somehow successful in Phoenix.

Hehe, the big difference sa mga NBA trades with PBA trades - walang hocus-pocus, walang lutong-macaw at walang bahid ng kalokohan sa NBA dahil sa higpit ng rules (salaries near % of one another, salary cap restrictions, CBA rules, etc).

Meron din niyan sa NBA. Remember CP3 was supposed to join the Lakers?

Well this case was unique, since the HORNETS then was league-owned ........ since Stern was commish, he had the right to veto any trade that was detrimental to the HORNETS, thus no CP3 to the LAKERS.

Just last month, David Stern gave out new revelations regarding this botched trade ......... CP3 was still supposed to go the LAKERS via a rehashed trade plan - it turns out that then GM Kupchak made a new trade which prevented this from happening.

Cris Paul to Houston is a bad move. I dont see him running the show for Houston better than Harden facilitating their offense most of the time.

Yeah, interesting that Stern would exhume that corpse for no apparent reason, no?

But that would be his one-side view of things, as always. He declined to mention that he was strong-armed by some owners, notably Gilbert, to intervene and reverse what he had, presumably, approved. At any rate, the deal that he okayed proved could be argued to be worse for NOH.

Back to the point though, that the NBA isn't exactly bulletproof in both rules and ethics.

LIke I said, it was a unique case - HORNETS were in ownership limbo, became league-owned, hence veto powers ......... if for whatever reason, parity, pressure, etc it happened and was according to rules.

It really depends on how one looks at it - if you're a LAKERS fan, you might cry foul ........ if you're a fan of the sport first, you might cry fair.

Wala namang league with bulletproof rules ........ I've clearly stated on another post that its dynamic, in the sense that during CBA's or offseason, they can adjust rules, conditions, etc accordingly - salary rules adjusted, flopping fines increased, waiver clauses, etc.

Ethics ...... IMO if the NBA is so unfair and unethical, you'd think that people will be appalled and media will be on its tail. It's not ..... the NBA is pretty huge right now and its getting bigger.
