bro arthur, i already have 15" sub powered by an outboard amp. because its amp is outboard, medyo convenient to change it anytime. what i have in mind is to have another amp to use para pagpali-palitin ko whenever i feel the need kung alam kong medyo pagod na ang isang amp, or whenever nangangati ang mga kamay ko at wala akong magawa hehe!  ;D.

any idea about the price bro? thnks

Dati, I saw an amp sub, stereo, rated at 100W per ch, it was priced at 3000, dito pa sa Bacolod yun. So, I'm sure you'd find something in that price range sa Raon, but of course, the quality wouldn't be as good as the ones mentioned by sir AV. You know what a friend of mine is into these days just to satisfy ang likot ng kamay? He bought several powered subs, opened them up, duplicated the amp circuits and made those sub enclosures by himself and chose his own drivers. So, parang DIY powered subs, duplicating the circuits that came with the subs he bought. I also plan to do that myself. I even plan to bi-amp a dual voice coil driver with a 2 ch sub amp, since I have a 2ch powered sub. Ang saya nito. hehehe. ;D
Making the most of what I've got

need to know the specs of subs before any recos can be made...check out digital dreams (sm city - cyberzone), soundroom at podium or acoustical space at megamall...they carry amps for the meanest subs there is...

How about buying a car amplifier worth 6K paired by 6 ampere rating 12 volts transformer. The amp can be bolt directly at the back of your sub enclosure then transformer inside the box may built in crossover pa including gain! Paired with JL audio sub? I've heard car audio sub dumadagundong!

These are normally part of the powered sub-amplifer circuitry.  Got to open a USAudio and DTX sub and those low pass variable filters, high level and satellite out conntections are part of the circuit board.  Could be wrong, but I am not aware of these circuits being sold separately.

Hi,

Na mention na pala pangalan ko dito  ;D, Ryan, sorry if I still haven't replied on your query about the sub filter. I have one working prototype available but my workroom is so messed up that I can't find my favorite shear cutter!  ;D I'll tell you once I found it.

I'll start a new sub project next week, I'll keep you posted on the project's details.  ;)

Cheers,
JojoD

Hello guys new in this forum actually this is my 6th times to join this kind of forum. And I'm  happy, I finally found this two "pinoy audio/video forum". I've started this hobby since 1998 and I'm still enjoying it, until now. but I have a dilemma in picking sub, actually this will be, probably my third sub my 1st  is "ganzklar 200true rms" and my 2nd is velodyne cht-8 (sakit sa bulsa) tight and clean bass both music and movie, but lack in head room and deep bass ( but in small room sound very unbelievable ). But in this set-up I'm quite happy unless no rattling sound. Until one respected  member from other forum offered me a free shipping delivery package, of "tempest (15")" subwoofer driver from "adireaudio.com" and a plate-amp 250/watts "300-794" from "partsexpress.com" for "DiY route". Mga kababayan  Sinamantala ko na, I added three fostex fullranged driver for my mains and center channel and some other related accesories. I read some one here already build this "Tempest ", hope I can hear your  experienced with this sub, also what type of enclosure have you made.
Btw the person will bring my stuffed here is Mr. Tim Forman "timn8ster" he's very kind her wife is Filipina, hope he'll join the forum too. Guy's, I'm just sharing my one time opportunity experienced  sa paglalakbay ko sa internet audio and video forum. Maraming salamat

Ang goal ko sa paggawa ng sub ay mambulabog ng kapitbahay ,is 15" rated at 500w can do the job? t.y.

Hi,

You can ask for TS parameters for Targa subs at any Dai-ichi showroom, there is one in megamall.

Anthony, or Nirvblakr (don't know which is which, sorry), can build the box for you with matching finish. Though I suggest you experiment first before you do box finishing (para naman di masayang).

If the Kenwood amp can hold it's own, your neighboor's would probably call the local barangay tanod.  ;D

Goodluck,
JojoD

2ny,

are you still in Russia or back in Manila? I've been in that shop a lot of times, I believe the shop's name is Decibez and the kit amp's name brand is Westrak - very popular in the 80's and early 90's mobile groups. the chinese guy there said that his "kumpare" designed the amps but at close inspection it is a jbl "3-deep" emitter follower design - very powerful amp indeed!

qguy,

they formerly sell kit amps but due to a lot of returning customers with burned kits they decided to just sell fully assembled amp modules. you can buy the amps separately with or without their psu.

in the long time that i have been around raon I haven't seen one yet being sold in those shops. I just build them myself. it has a variable gain, variable frequency cut-off, phase switch, speaker level and line level inputs.

yes, i am in russia at the moment, will be back late july or august.  despite what they might say, westrack amps are copied from designs out of magazines and databooks. i know when i see them. only semicon devices are different, so buying them is no hazzle, they are proven designs.  even QSC design has been pirated and is being sold locally by you know who, but i am not going to dwell on that. we pinoys are great imitators, and we get away with it all the time. why we are ashemed to admit it puzzles me no end. ;D ;D ;D
