Upgrade from TSI300
« on: Dec 17, 2018 at 10:35 AM »
Hi. I am thinking of upgrading the fronts of my HT setup. Currently using the TSi series for my 5.0 setup and wharf d10 for sub. I watch movies and play music via my computer paired with my onkyo 575.

So far, na audition ko na yung b&w 606 and klipsch 160m rp with just music. I liked the B&W more.
May mairerecommemd ba kayo guys?
Budget is around 30k.

b&w 606 (or the whole new 600 series) just got better over the older model 600 S2 series.  as you liked the new B&W better than Klipsch, so did I.

I once auditioned b&w 684 S2 vs paradigm monitor 7 v7 vs PSB Imagine x1t vs monitor audio bronze 5 -- all floorstanders

my personal take in the following order:
- monitor audio bronze 5 = paradigm monitor 7 v7 -- price is almost the same
- b&w 684 S2 -- the most expensive of the four yet I find its performance is only 3rd among the 4
- PSB Imagine x1t  - price almost equal the monitor audio but performs the least among the 4

check for the prices of these floorstanders if you're not rather limited only to get bookshelves.  also try out the Dali Zensor or Spektor.  this is very good as well.

I took the monitor audio bronze for its performance & aesthetics.  maybe you won't go wrong in any of those mentioned above.  just a matter of taste & personal preference =))  try them out too and good luck with your speaker hunting!

If your upgrading, you must be looking to improve something otherwise why upgrade :)

I asked because it would be easier to provide suggestions if you can provide what aspect you want to improve in your system.

@qguy

Yes I am thinking of upgrading my front speakers. So far ok pa naman sakin yung current setup ko pero I want to make my listening experience at home better. TSi 300s were Polk's entry level towers way back then. Now, I want to have better front speakers.

I would look at upgrading your sub first before the fronts. More BANG for the HT experience
