HTPC - GTX 1070 - Choosy sa HDMI?
« on: Jan 15, 2019 at 10:07 PM »
Hi HTPC experts,

I have a dilemma that is baffling me.

So I have a been using a Samsung KS7000 4k TV for over a year now and just recently acquired a  PALIT GTX 1070 last November.

Using regular HDMI cables, I would only get 4k at 30hz

I wanted to get a 4k 60fps signal at the time and the only HDMI cable I had that I knew would work was the HDMI cable that came with my Xbox One X. True enough it did work and now I get a beautiful 4k picture that can run at 60Hz.

Now my problem is when I try using any regular HDMI cable, I no longer get a picture. Tried changing settings sa PC, even bringing down resolution to 1080p but still no picture.

I have to use my Xbox One X HDMI to get a picture (so now I have to manually transfer cables when I want to use my HTPC or Xbox.

What's my solution? Should I just buy a Monoprice 4k HDMI 2.1 cable?

Apologies if I don't make sense, it's late, no more patience to proof read.

TIA

Based on your tests, it looks like you just need a new hdmi cable. just make sure you get those high speed 18Gbps. amazon and monoprice is ok.
