Watched Episode 1 last night. So far, as bloody good, twistedly funny and depraved as The Boys. Maybe the characters are not as immediately compelling as those in the original series, but this is just the first episode, so I'm giving room for them to grow on me.

I originally dismissed this as a Millenial Youth series, but it didnt really give the entitled crap feel, and more than that, I really like the characters as they have a more realistic and more likeable characters compared to The Boys; they weren't as angry or as depraved. Plot is also engaging and there are still gory/weird fetishes though not as crazy as The Boys. Overall, this is a lighter series compared to the original, but still fun to watch if you enjoyed the original.

Finished Season 1 last night. Excellent and lives up to the high standards set by The Boys. And I do like the crossover between the two series. I guess next up is The Boys Season 4, then followed by Gen V Season 2. Bring them on!

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Production Delayed Following Star Chance Perdomo’s Tragic Death

Today was supposed to be a happy day for the cast and producers of Prime Video’s Gen V as they were supposed to reconvene in Toronto for the superhero series’ first Season 2 table read this afternoon ahead of the start of filming, scheduled for April 8 in the Canadian city.

Instead, they woke up to the news that one of the show’s stars, Chance Perdomo, had died in a motorcycle accident, spending Saturday trying to come to grips with the sudden and profound loss. There is little detail about the circumstances surrounding Perdomo’s death at age 27. He is believed to have died late last night or early this morning in Upstate New York, on his way back to Toronto. Citing authorities, the actor’s representatives said today that no other individuals were involved in the crash.

In light of Perdomo’s passing, start of Season 2 production on Gen V has been delayed indefinitely. After they spend time to grieve Perdomo’s sudden death, the series’ writers and producers will be faced with the dilemma how to proceed with the series without one of its lead actors. They will either have to overhaul the new season and redo all scripts to write Perdomo’s character off or recast the role.
