Love Death + Robots (Netflix)
« on: Feb 15, 2019 at 10:20 AM »

LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS
Presented by Tim Miller (Deadpool) & David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Social Network)

The series, which will comprise of 18 animated shorts, will be aimed towards adults with stories that go across every genre from science fiction, comedy, fantasy and horror, including imaginative characters such as sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers and robots gone wild.

Tim Miller, who previously was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the 2004 animated short Gopher Broke, will be returning to his animation roots with the series and while not confirmed, it’s presumed he will more than likely utilize his animation company Blur Studio, while the team will also consist of filmmakers from around the world and feature various animation styles including traditional 2D and photorealistic CGI.

“Love, Death & Robots is my dream project,” says Miller, who will exec produce with David Fincher, Jennifer Miller and Josh Donen. “It combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part. I’m so f*cking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation.”

Miller previously worked with Fincher as the designer for the opening credits sequence on the 2011 American adaptation of the acclaimed 2005 Swedish novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Love Death + Robots lands on Netflix March 15, 2019.

Something to watch out for for sure.  The bite-sized episodes will be great for breaks and lunches at work.

'Love, Death and Robots' Renewed at Netflix, Adds 'Kung Fu Panda 3' Director

Netflix has picked up its series Love, Death and Robots for a second run, and the anthology is bringing aboard an animation veteran to help bring the show to life.

Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the director of Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, will join the series as supervising director for the second season — or "volume," as the show's producers call it. A release date and episode count for the new run has yet to be determined.

It's miles better than that *other* speculative sci-fi anthology series also on Netflix.

Watched this last night. It’s better than the first one IMO.  All the episodes are good, unlike Volume 1.

Netflix has officially renewed its acclaimed adult-animated anthology series Love, Death + Robots for a fourth season. The renewal announcement comes more than two months after the series debuted its nine-episode third season, which has been nominated for two Emmys: Outstanding Short Animated Program and Outstanding Sound Editing.
