Help recommend CEnter Channel Speakers
« on: May 30, 2019 at 09:18 PM »
This is my first time in 12 years putting together a budget home theater system (5.1.2) were I will use my existing speakers except the center channel.
Can anyone recommend a center channel to pair with Pioneer HPM 100's as my fronts? I have have an old Paradigm cc 350 (IIRC) but I know for sure it will not sound right.

Receiver: Yamaha RXV 685

HPM Spec:
Frequency Response: 30Hz to 25kHz
Power Handling: 50W
Crossover Frequency: 3000, 4000, 12000Hz
Impedance: 8Ω
Sensitivity: 92.5dB

I am designing my room split for HT and listening. The listening space will be smaller and therefore the HPMs moves to the HT area.

Thanks in advance.

Try mo muna ang Paradigm mo. If you say your building a budget HT, then using your Paradigm would come at no expense at all. Malay mo magustuhan mo din siya.

Thanks Nelson,  will do try it with the HPM when my HT room renovation is complete since lifting 59 lbs speakers up and down the stairs is not an easy thing  :D :D :D
In the meantime while waiting I have a 3.1  setup in my living room; a  Paradigm Studio 40 v3 as fronts the digms cc 350 or 370 (I have to check the exact model) V2 as center, polk psw10 sub. Though this cc have good reviews back in the days but does not have that front sparkle to my ears that led me to this question.
Admittedly I have not calibrated the 3.1 setup if that will make a big difference in center sound. I will try to calibrate and see what happens too.

Medjo mag-kakaroon ng similarity sa sound (vs wlang auto calibration) because the auto calibration with adjust the EQ and the time alignment.

I did the calibration on my 3.1 setup. The sound did equalize so the center does not sound it was  off anymore. Can't wait for my listening room to finish to do more experiments.
