Medyo OT ............. anyone else annoyed by ESPN's Rachel Nichols ?

Not being sexist, but there are far better choices for being the host of an NBA analysis show.

^ Yup. Not like Doris Burke who is an excellent, no-frills NBA analyst in the mold of Hubie Brown.

Agreed.  I see Rachel as more of a journalist than a ballgame analyst.  This is where Candace Parker has an edge (for obvious reasons).

However, Rachel Nichols is much better at doing interviews.  She doesn't ask dumb questions and she isn't afraid of asking tough questions, either.

Agree that Candace Parker (and Chiney Ogwumike) far better being an NBA analyst.

Hints of arrogance from Rachel Nichols ........... she talks as if she's been an NBA GM or coach for years now.

ESPN probably employing the same 'strategy' as with Stephen A. ............. find someone who's bombastic and who comes off as a mean and straightforward host.

Some buzz on a Kuzma trade to the KNICKS.

Very likely the LAKERS will target Morris ....... they need a reliable, veteran for that championship push in the playoffs.

KNICKS aren't going anywhere right now, so better stock up on young talent with potential. Aside from Kuzma, they'll get another player from the LAKERS to match salaries.

DRose would also be a nice target also ........... pakiramdam ko, Rondo will be a liability in the playoffs somehow.

A Kuzma might be the young hometown star for the PISTONS to re-build on.

Didn't DRose play with LeBron already in Cleveland and was hardly a factor?  I think DRose needs the ball in his hands to be effective.  Though he has improved as a shooter maybe the last couple of years, for me he doesn't seem the catch and shoot  kind of guy.

As for Morris, he might fit better in LA. While he was in Boston, virtually no plays are run for him but he still produced about 13-14PPG.

(Knock on wood) ........... Just on eye-test along, DRose seems to be at his most healthiest in years, hence LAKERS might want to trade for him.

Morris Sr. indeed would be a better fit for the LAKERS - any veteran team actually.

There's a reason the SPURS gave up Bertans to get Morris Sr. the last offseason.

Woj trade alert:

Houston gets Robert Covington and Jordan Bell

Atlanta gets Clint Capela and Nene

Minnesota gets Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Evan Turner, Jarred Vanderbilt and ATL 1st round pick (via Nets)

Denver gets Gerald Green (to be waived), Shabazz Napier, Noah Vonleh, Keita Bates-Diop and HOU 1st round pick

=====

I assume HOU is not done dealing yet. They need a center.

EDIT: More players involved and added above. So it’s MIN which is now not done dealing, it seems. They need a PG..

Hmm ......... Capela and John Collins on the HAWKS same team, both playing the same role e.g. PnR, rim protection.

Sa bagay, they have cap space to burn, better burn it on a young big.

I would've wanted to see D'Angelo Russell in the 3 point contest, in lieu of Zach Lavine.  Then Lavine goes to the slam dunk contest to replace Pat Connaughton...

^ Agree. Having an Aaron Gordon vs Zach Levine 2nd round face off is more interesting than having Dwight Howard in that slam dunk contest.

Zach LaVine said he would've joined the Slam Dunk contest if he was chosen to play in the All-Star game. But since he was snubbed and has won the Slam Dunk contest twice, he decided to just join the Three-Point Shootout. Good luck to him.

The NBA will also add a new feature to this year's Mountain Dew Three-Point Shootout, which would benefit deep-range shooters like Trae Young and Lillard:

"In addition to shooting the usual five balls from five different racks along the three-point arc, participants will get a pair of shots from two stations positioned 29 feet, 9 inches from the basket. The range-testing shots from six feet beyond the arc will be worth three points apiece.

The five racks along the three-point line will still each feature five balls. Four of the stations will have four NBA game balls worth a single point and one multi-colored money ball worth two points. The fifth station includes five money balls. The max score for each round is increased from 36 to 42 points.

The change marks the first to the contest since 2014, when the NBA added the all-money-ball rack. The two long-distance shots will be set up on a pair of pedestals between the second and third rack and the third and fourth rack. These sponsored “MTN DEW Zones” will feature green balls. Participants will get an additional 10 seconds added to the minute they got for the past 34 years."
