i can bring my Super Bass CD by Ray Brown, John Clayton and Christian McBride. in this Telarc 20 Bit CD, we can judge a CDP's low frequency slam and extension and imaging... just imagine three of the greatest bassist playing in front of you with Brown's piece of bass coming out in the center while being flanked by the other two bassists in the left and right channel. this will also test your speakers' capability to reproduce music in the bass region....

sounds better, but my point is listeners should not see the player while playing to dissuade biases among brands. you're idea is good and practical.
