Grab/Lalamove insurance?
« on: Aug 23, 2020 at 03:48 PM »
I’m planning to buy a laptop from PC Express. Unfortunately, the item is available in their SM North Edsa branch which is too far from me. They said they have a lot of customers who use lalamove for high value items. Has anyone done this? The laptop is around 27k and I was wondering if there’s such a thing as “insurance” for high ticket items when using Grab or Lalamove.

Done lots of business already with PCX using grab but mostly coming from their Main office in San Juan. Also using Lalamove to ship/receive amps/speakers worth a lot more than a laptop, and so far, no issues yet. The laptops in their boxes should be fairly sturdy enough to survive rugged transport. That said, I am hoping they'd have an insurance option soon, but I doubt it given the "ride sharing" platform used by Grab/Lalamove aka no control over the drivers.

Mr. Speedy Philippines, a Lalamove and Grab competitor, offers insurance for items picked up and delivered for an additional fee.

I'm not sure though up to how much they can insure.

just recently bought a couple of laptops on two different occasions. from ayala manila bay mall to marilao bulacan. just booked normal lalamove, no issues on both, paid about 336 pesos each.
