Harden is getting desperate. Papayag na daw sya ma-trade to the Sixers or any contending team.

I'm thinking about what contending team would benefit from his unique iso ball/shooting marksmanship skill set and the Sixers come to mind.  Simmons plus 2 players and 2 picks for Harden might work.

You have Harden at the perimeter and Embiid in the painted area.
If Harden's reason to get traded is to win a championship then he should go to the Lakers or is there any other team that can help him or he can help get a ring?

Pre season games coming up this Friday.  I'm excited to see the Schroder/Harrel pick and roll game. This is something that the Lakers dint have last year.  2 years ago it was this offense from the Clippers that gave Golden State a ton of problems in the playoffs.  They needed 6 games to dispatch the Clippers. Harrel is tops in the league as the roll man.

Reasons why most contenders wont even make an offer:

1. Harden should commit to re-sign after his 3 year contract otherwise he might bolt and there goes all the players and picks that you traded in order to get him.
2. His style of play is very unique.  You need to build a team around his style of play otherwise it might not work.
3. Iso Ball is not generally accepted as the ticket to win championships.  Can he change his style of play? Perhaps.
4. Houston is asking for the moon. 1 young legit superstar + 4 to 5 first round picks
5. He is owed 40M, 43M and 46M for the next three years.

Harden may end up retiring without a ring unless he makes sacrifices perhaps.

Being a team game, iso ball would really not go that far. I am not well adept with basketball but I couldn't recall any team becoming a champion via iso ball.

I don't think its James Harden's preference as well but Houston built the team and devised the game plan around that specific skill set of his.  Its the best chance for them to win from their point of view.  They came so close in beating the Warriors during the last year of CP3 in Houston. They even had a traditional center in Capella when they had that run.  Capella and CP3 got their shots as well during that season so yes I think the mentality of iso ball Harden can be dispelled.

Sometimes the law of recency just puts an unfair stigma on people.

For me having a player with that kind of skill set is a weapon you can use in closing out close games or whenever your team just needs to manufacture points on the board (like stemming a run from the opposing team). Over reliance sometimes on just one player can be very easy for the defense to read and stop specially in the playoffs.

plus Harden isn't really the type of player that fills seats and tv views. He is good yes but not marketable good for other teams to sacrifice to get him.

havent even seen a person wear a Harden jersey or Harden shoes, or any merchandise for that matter. lol

According to the NBA, Harden actually ranks 5th in jersey sales pre-pandemic.
Quote
NEW YORK — The National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) today jointly announced that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers secured the top spots on the NBA’s Most Popular Jersey and Team Merchandise lists for the second consecutive year. Results are based on NBAStore.com sales from October 2019 through December 2019.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo ranked No. 2 on the player list followed by the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry (No. 3), the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum (No. 4) and the Houston Rockets’ James Harden (No. 5).

They needed to lock up one or both their superstars to a long term contract.  2024 they will open the new home of the Clippers and they need to ensure that they have a marquee attraction.

Sa Bucks naman daw gusto mag pa trade ni Harden? Parang soap opera na ito abangan ang susunod na kabanata.Ang hirap din ng sitwasyon nya superstar na walang strong interest ang mga team to get him.

Bro Tirso, May interesado sa kanya for sure pero iniipit ng Houston Management and ownership yan because they have to look out for the team's post Harden future as well.

Harden can mention every team there is in the NBA but if Houston Rockets' ownership repeatedly asks for the moon in order to nix the trade then it wont gain any traction.  He is under contract for the next two years (P/O yung third).  If management stays put in their position then Harden isn't going anywhere.  Sad that it had to end this way for their relationship.

Many insiders see this saga to last this year with Harden being fined in every game he decides not to play until Houston gets what they want in return for the MVP and 3x scoring champion via trade.  All the leverage belongs to ownership.  They wont have to contend to the crowd showing their disapproval on how this is being handled since there will be no crowd wherever the Rockets play. Tilman Fertitta (#181 in the Forbes 400) wont be held hostage by the desires of his employee because if they get so so players  just to trade James then it will set their organization back for years.

May sapi talaga itong si Kyrie .......... he seems to keep getting worse, every year.

Siya nag-sabi na flat ang mundo, hindi nila kailangan nang coach, etc ngayon sinisisi niya ang media.

John Wall and Boogie Cousins are playing really well in their first game back since significant injuries. Especially Wall, very active. If they can stay healthy, this isn’t a bad team for James Harden to team up with this season.

It’ll take some time to get used to not seeing any fans (whether actual or virtual) in these games.

We deserve better.

Nice game by both Boogie and John Wall.  No bearing game but both players can use the preseason games to shake off the rust.
