Agree. Bad trip sa paying fans yan. Imagine paying premium for tickets to see the bench unit play.

Better solution is to lower down the number of regular season games so that players can have more rest in between games.

Alam ko 82 regular season games na talaga.  I don't think lowering regular season games is the answer.  Players then were not complaining about it.  Medical expertise then weren't as advanced as it is now.  Plus players then were not as handsomely paid compared to now.

Medical advances and players receiving 30M in a single season whereas before a 30M payday was a multi-year contract.... and today's players want load management?   ;)

IMO the past decade (or more) have shown too many meaningless games ........... many games between weak, non-playoff teams versus playoff teams who can afford to loan manage, given the weak opponent.

I've long been in favor of lowering games, or the very least, make a serious study of it ............ it was best shown in the recent bubble, they based on historical data, statistics, on the cut-off and criteria, on who'll be invited to the bubble and what would it take for the bubble participants (fringe teams) to make the play-in tournament.

Or possibly shrink the league - there's just too many teams, the league is watered down ........ too many weak teams - by incompetent owners and/or are inherently disadvantaged (sinong FA's ang pupunta sa Charlotte, Utah, Sacramento, etc).

It's good that the NBA will be implementing some home-away series this coming season, like in the MLB ........... teams plays each other for some games, just to limit the travel.

==================================================================================

Hehe, siguradong aangal at mang-aasar na naman yung mga old school legends ex. Barkley, Pippen, etc ........... and they would be right, actually.

Players before had to endure a much physical NBA for the full 82 games slate.

But it's a different era now - the game is more scientific and much, much faster. There were even past suggestions to somehow increase the court size.

In JJ Redick's podcats, DWade was a recent guest ......... he admitted about one incident that convinced him to finally retire - the HEAT were playing the KINGS, DWade had to guard Hield and Fox .......... reklamo daw siya kay Spo na i-bangko na siya, hindi daw niya kaya ang bilis nung dalawa. Hehe.

=================================================================================

Adam Silver is the progressive type .......... he's slowly making improvements to the league, which are ideas whos time has come.

Like the All-Star Game, much more exciting now with removing the East-West format and replacing it with the draft.

I think there were preliminary talks with players and owners on reducing the number of regular season games.  Owners were willing to compromise, but there should be corresponding reduction in salaries.  Players balked at that idea.  ;)

Sana nga mag-contract ang league ............ remove 2 teams each from the EAST & WEST - say, remove the HAWKS, HORNETS, KINGS & GRIZZLIES (or TWOLVES & SUNS) ......... teams that have historically low-attendance & marketability.

Then do a dispersal draft, para kahit paano mag-imrprove ang overall league parity.

Tutal may NASCAR team na din naman si Jordan.   8)

Utah Jazz team sold for 1.6B

The Miller family has entered into an agreement to sell the Utah Jazz and Vivint Smart Home Arena to Qualtrics founder Ryan Smith for $1.66 billion, sources told ESPN.
Smith, 40, is a lifelong Utah resident and Jazz fan who built software company Qualtrics before it sold for a reported $8 billion. Smith had a long-standing relationship with the Jazz franchise, which included a philanthropic jersey patch that raised more than $25 million in recent years.

Seems like the NBA is hell bent on starting this December. They do not want to lose the window of opportunity in terms of revenue during the Christmas season.
They can’t compete with football and olympics is likely to push through next year as well.

Oladipo to bucks??

That is a huge gamble for the Bucks.  Oladipo never regained his form from the injury he suffered last January 2019.  Prior to the injury he was All Star level. I wonder who will they give up to get Oladipo.  Granted that it may be a 1 year experiment for the Bucks because his contract expires at the end of the season however he may not be the kind of support cast that Giannis is looking for and they may lose HIM as well.

Talks that the Lakers are interested in getting former MVP Derrick Rose is now  being reported as a sure bet.  Rondo is expected to receive lucrative offers from other teams that the Lakers may not even match because it isn't aligned to their long term plans.  Rose has an expiring contract and is only making 7M so its a low impact gamble for LA.

Tagal ng Free agency. May meeting pa NBPA and the NBA this week to iron out the opening of the next season. They have to hammer that down first before they pencil in the free agency sched.

At his age..sometimes less is more.  He is close to 70 years old, Two time COY awardee and made a lot of money already in his chosen career. Ayaw na siguro ng stress of being a Head Coach that's why he accepted a lesser role.

I bet he enjoys his life more with less workload.

and there's no shame in that! the man has achieved a lot already in his career. so what if he's an assistant coach now? that's not a "just" job.

Naalala ko yung dating NBA player na si Adrian Dantley. After his career in the NBA he took a job as a crossing guard and a referee sa high school na malapit sa bahay nya.  ROY, 6 time all star, 2 time scoring champ and HOF.  Yun lang naman na achieve nya sa 15 year career nya.

After the house is paid off, the kids graduate and have their own professions and lives, being debt free, money in the bank for your twilight years, pension and medical insurance........why stay in the rat race? Quit while you are still young. Enjoy life.
