bad move for the Wizards

understand the need to trade Wall, pero wag naman Westbrook. Andyan na si Beal eh. Pero siguro, wala din takers kay Wall

I think this trade was rumored some time ago since their contracts match:

* Westbrook (32 years old): 3 years remaining - US$41.3 m / 44.2 m / 47 m, with a player option in 2022

* Wall (30 years old): 3 years remaining - US$41.2 m / 44.3 m / 47.3 m, with a player option in 2022

Washington probably included that 2023 protected first round pick because Wall is coming off a major injury and will not be 100% this season.

I like the trade for Houston. Seems Wall can complement Harden better (assuming he also doesn't get traded). Wall is also younger. Westbrook will be playing for three different teams in as many seasons, which suggests there's a reason he's not wanted long-term by each of the teams that he's played for.

A win for both teams - considering that both players had asked to be traded weeks ago.

IMO it's a bigger win for the ROCKETS - assuming, Wall is finally healthy, they get more accurate shooting and overall play-making ......... plus they get a pick, they're collecting picks since they lost so much with the RW & CP3 trades.

This signals that the ROCKETS are officially going back to more traditional play, enough of the micro-ball, 7-seconds or less.

Westbrook gets to play under his old coach, Scott Brooks. Who knows, we might see a steadier Westbrook this season,

Si Westbrook naman yata nag request na ma trade sya. Ayaw nya daw ng role nya sa Rockets. Si Harden ang mukhang walang makasundo, pati si Westbrook na kaibigan nya hindi nakatagal sa kanya.

I think Westbrook requested to be traded in both instances (OKC and HOU).

Panalo Washington dyan sa trade.  John Wall last played in the NBA back in 2018. In return they will get a former MVP.

So LeBron signs an $85M contract extension that runs until 2023. Does it mean they can't sign Giannis anymore?  That would probably be $40M on the first year.

Lakers' LeBron James agrees to two-year, $85 million max contract extension, locked up through 2023

Sa article it says max extension.  So it connotes on the contrary..  maybe the salary difference is not a huge leap.  But it's not a pay cut.

Maybe he meant underpaid?  Which is different.

20-21 $39M
21-22 $41M
22-23 $44M

It can't be a pay cut since it's increasing.

I don't know what the maximum allowable in the CBA, for a 17-year tenured player like LBJ ........... IMO it matters very little at this point.

Any team that Lebron picks (HEAT/CAVS/LAKERS), will pay what they can, what Lebron wants. It's that simple.

Though, Lebron will always be 'underpaid', since his overall value will far exceed what he'll officially receive as NBA salary ........... the cost impact and revenues he brings to his team and city'/state, is immense.

Hehe, it's just curious to me (and some) that Lebron signed an extension with the LAKERS, whereas he didn't with his hometown CAVS (his return).

Iba din talaga ang hatak nang Los Angeles - marquee franchise, Hollywood, lifestyle, great weather, etc.

Yes saka mas malaki pa din per year compared sa iba.Iba din pagka fanboy nun. Barkada ko sya pero I never dared engaging him in any discussion related to LBJ. Gladly though di pa ako nasabihan nun ng stupid.

He'll turn 36 this Dec. 30 .......... still going strong.

Si Lebron (and Rich Paul) lang makaka-alam kung saan magtatapos ang career niya.

Lakers na yan till his retirement. Doesn't make sense for him to switch teams at this point.  When will he retire?  Tingin ko he is just waiting for his son to be drafted and share the pro court with him one day as a team mate or as an opponent.  He is also gunning for the top ranking in points career wise (Kareem Abdul Jabbar).  If he happens to snag another ring  or two while he is waiting for Bronny then that would be a bonus.

Is he the only player at his age playing at this level? I only knew of VC playing at 40 but way past his prime already.

Is there any father and son team that played in the NBA at the same time either as team mate or opponents?

Whoa...5 year contract. 4 + 1 yan sigurado.  Lakers will be competitive each year as long as AD is in purple and gold.

Sana pag ready na mag retire si LBJ eh ma-aswang nila si Luka na lumipat sa LA  hehehehe
