Meron din a number of players who late in their career transferred to another team to join a superstar to chase a ring but ended up losing in the finals or playoffs. Karl Malone is one when he joined his last stop the Lakers. I think si Barkely din with The Rockets. Although Charles already transferred from a number of teams na din and yet failed in getting one.

Recent star players na nag join in to get a title and still failed were The Lakers Dwight-Nash-Kobe, Rockets Harden-CP3-Dwight, Brooklyn Nets KG-PPierce-Deron Willimas-Joe Johnson, and most recently BNets KD-Harden-Irving.

Madami din pala. Madami pa na di ko na mention.

Regarding the rockets, these are the facts that i know, pero i may be wrong.

Barkley was traded to houston and houston gave up cassell and horry. A wrong trade in houston's part imo. Barkley is old na and acquired thru trade. He was 33 na ata at that time. Hakeem, drexler and barkley are on their last legs. Puro na oldies and injuries

Harden was acquired also thru trade. He was just a sixth man in okc. Then starter and big star sa houston. Dwight signed with houston as free agent.

Cp3, dwight and harden did not play together. Wala na si dwight that time. Cp3, harden and capela played together. Cp3 was also acquired thru trade.

Cp3 played with houston 2017 to 2019
Howard played with houston 2013 to 2016
Dwight was with the hawks na in 2017

You can't compare old age players forming superteams to young players at their prime forming superteams.

Here are the superteams na kalokohan.
1. Lebron, wade and bosh
2. Curry, klay and durant
3. Durant, irving and harden.

When they formed these teams, they are still at the peak of their career.

I don't want to even google their ages when they teamed up but alam ko 26 to 32 mga yan, the year they started their run

but isn't it the players who make the team wins ... I find it absurd that star players leave their team with the reason of the team not winning - that's accepting that you're not good enough or did not develop your skills ... when Lebron took the Cavs to championship on his first stint with the team, that was impressive - the championship with the super teams, not so impressive

Players need the right coaching staff to unlock and develop their skills. That's the reason every HOF player almost always give their thanks to the coaches that developed them through the years.  If there are good players then there are also great coaches. In game X and O's are what we normally see during game time. What we don't see is the behind the scenes work that they do to improve.  The gigantic task of winning a championship takes commitment and dedication from the top of the organization right down to the players.  When teams don't win for decades it may be due to a multitude of factors.

Lets go back to the KG and Kevin Love examples.  Both players gave it their all each night. The lack of a good supporting cast was the reason why despite the herculean talent that those 2 players had, they have a hard time reaching the playoffs.  Management didn't want to spend for the right pieces that will complement their superstars.  Sometimes the owner is willing to spend but the weak link is the GM...who couldn't even get a deal done.

Another example is Zion Williamson who will soon be the poster boy of a star player mired in a quicksand of a team called NOLA.  3 years...3 coaches.  Maganda yan sa development nung bata.

Regarding spending money, you have to consider din mga small market teams. Kaya sobrang lugi nila and these players have too much power.

Spoiled sobra mga players ngayon. They are making so much money and just puro complain and dont give it all.

Yes coaches are important and you also have to consider player development. Look at randall, ingram and lonzo, clarkson. Lahat yan played for lakers. They didnt do good in la and now doing great sa ibang team. Players give up on their teams, management and owners too easy.

Iba na talaga yun hakot ngayon. Look at lakers, they have ata 5 to 8 players na klutch sports. Buyout market is a joke.

^^ Yes bro iba na talaga player empowerment these days.  Any player can just wake up and demand a trade not unlike nung panahon nila Dr. J.  In hindsight, any management team can trade any player as well.

Randall, Ingram, Lonzo and Clarkson...the baby Lakers.  Yes they became better individual contributors when they were traded. You can say that the Lakers management didnt have the patience anymore to develop them to what they can become but can you blame the Lakers management when in return you get LBJ and AD who helped get you the 17th banner in just a year?  NOLA, NY and UTA are still clawing their way to the playoffs. The standard for success in LA is titles and not flowery words from announcers declaring them as the team of the future.

Now re Klutch, kasama yan sa package when they signed LBJ. He gets to be the GM behind the scenes.  His formula is effective. No other player in this generation reached 10 Finals with different teams at that.

Is it a bad precedence? of course.  Kawhi for one requested for the Clippers to give up the entire farm to get PG otherwise he wont sign.  His Uncle even demanded private planes, team stocks and other absurd demands which we wont even know if it was given just to land Kawhi.

I have a question, what is considered tampering?
When morey tweeted on the steph curry thing joining seth he was fined 75 thou dollars. Recently magic tweeted saying Cp3 should first call lebron james this off season pag nag opt out. Hindi ba yan tampering?

Sabi pa niya ata sa tweet, lebron, davis and paul equals championship.

Diba tampering yan?

Medyo vague and ambiguous yung rules ng NBA sa tampering.  GM's and President of Basketball Operations and usual violators nyan.  Pag player ang nagsalita eh ok lang minsan.

Dame Lillard will be the next guy up who might demand a trade.  Nakita naman natin how he gives his heart out every game but for some reason they couldn't get over the hump.  Just recently, we witnessed how he scored 55 points including 12 3 pt shots but still they lost.  9 years na sya sa Portland and he will be 32 this year.  By age 34/35 his production and physical abilities on the court will slowly trend downwards.  He declared that he would like to retire as a Blazer but the constant losing in playoff purgatory is just wearing him down.  They keep running back the Nurkic, McCollum, Lillard core but the results are just the same.  Nurc is always hurt, McCollum is inconsistent and their coaching staff never preached defense (yearly they are ranked close to the bottom).

Guys...lets keep the discussions flowing dun sa 2021-22 season thread.

Congratulations once again to the Milwaukee Bucks.  Giannis is a true example that dreams can become a reality but you have to work hard for it.  From being an illegal immigrant, operating a pushcart and selling pirated DVD's to becoming a Champ.  It doesn't get any better than that.

Cp3 may still have it, he’s in his last contract year pa.  actually, it is not all about cp3 alone.  the team gained so many experiences playing in this year’s nba finals. cp3 without doubt raised the team to a championship caliber. It is up to the other players how they will respond to the challenges ahead, how to recover from set backs, how to not gve up easily and how to not lose hope!

The Suns' rise actually started in the bubble and transitioned into this season.  Ayton grew up as a beast of a player.  They will continue to grow next season.  So all is not lost in Phoenix and for CP3 even if he remains in Phoenix.

Wasn't CP3 injured as well majority of the series?  So Phoenix won against the Lakers with an injured CP3?

but still played all games and leading their team in assists, which is what he always does. facilitate.

versus AD who was in street clothes.

CP3 played with an injury connecting on about 3 field goals during the series and shooting 36% from the field.  He averaged 7.6apg lower than his regular season of 8.9apg.  His scoring was also affected with 9.1ppg versus the regular season average of 16.4ppg.  CP3's impact  was actually only a +5 (avg) for the series.  Hardly a difference maker with the injury

Besides, didn't the Lakers still have GOAT Lebron as the best player in the series?  One member posted nga LeBron occasionally loses game one but overall, wins the series by himself? Are you neglecting the Lakers still had LeBron as a difference maker?

If we're going to use injuries as an excuse, maybe the Heat upset the Lakers during the finals if Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic weren't injured as well.

Lakers supposed to rely on 36 year old lebron who missed almost half of the season due to injury? He wasnt the same lebron as 2020.

So you're belittling the teamwork displayed by Phoenix as well as the coaching work done by Monty Williams and it was just pure luck.  But if somehow Lakers won... It was.vintage LeBron's super human performance

could care less about Lebron lol

ewan ko nga san nanggagaling ang mga comment mo about Lebron. I never talked about Lebron.

I was just replying to thebat's comment that if AD didnt went down when Lakers were up 2-1 series would have been over.

Agree to disagree.  I don't think injuries should be used as an excuse. Last I recall though, I thought you don't ascribe to what if?  And yet what if AD wasn't injured?

Looking back, nakakatawa din yun game 6, si connaughton, teague at tucker have all zero points, sobrang pressure ng games.

Sa Suns sa kabila, kakaunti rin contributions ni bridges 7, johnson 3 at zero din si craig. Sa 1st half halos 3 points lang yata si booker. He may have felt the disastrous turn over in the dying minutes of game 5.

Surely it will be a different story in the 2021-2022 nba finals. Going precedents, hinde nakakabalik sa finals ang previous contenders.  Good luck sa inyong mga teams!

It was a huge game. The pressure was tremendous for many of the Suns and Bucks players.  Si Tucker naman halos di tumitira sa games yan. he attempts 1 or 2 shots and that's about it.

Pinaka malaking absentee for Game 6 is Ayton (36 mins played with 12 pts, 6 reb).  Pat Connaughton had 8 rebounds for Game 6 in only 23 mins played,  The starting 7 foot Center of the Suns got out rebounded by a 6'4" guard  who plays off the bench.  Meanwhile yung binantayan ni Ayton naka 50 points, 14 reb and 5 blocks.

the pressure got to Middleton and Jrue as well. They played poorly that night but made up for it sa defense and hustle plays.  It was only GIannis who got his scoring game going all night long but Coach Monty didn't adjust and just left poor Ayton to stop the two time MVP.  Ayton, whose soul was owned by Giannis since the Game 4 block just stood there helplessly.  Anlayo ng talent and skill difference ni Giannis and Ayton.
