^ must be Roberta Flack -- as I know she was the one who has popularized this song...

but better to ask the store directly instead, if they are playing a different version of the song you've heard on the demo =D

everytime I hear a certain song in a showroom that sounds so good but when you play it back at home it is not that mesmerizing anymore. I always wonder why. Acoustics? or maybe the gears?  ;D

Or maybe the shock factor isn't there already since one is already accustomed to the track/recording

thats the right word "THE SHOCK FACTOR for the 1st time"

I remember at the old Acoustic Den in Quezon, Eric played the PINK PANTHER tune it was awesome then arriving home trying it right away just caused disappointment  ;D

Sometimes the most obscure tracks give you the most shock factor when played in a great system with good acoustics. I remember when a straight Cayin front end with twin Cayin Tube Monoblocks powering two big Vandersteen's were demoed to me.  The track was from a Leah Salonga CD which I don't remember. It was stunning to say the least.  If im a sucker to an impulse buy and have deep pockets baka napabili ako ng Cayin/Vandy at that time hehehe.  It was that good
